When I first bought the truck in March of this year, the key fob problem was daily (unlock, and lock). A few months later it went to the occasional weekly annoyance. Now I can honestly say, it's been 8 weeks and I haven't had the issue.

Could it be the fob begins to wear in?
My thumb has simply gotten stronger over time?

I don't know the exact answer. But I thought I would submit this information, in case others that had this problem over 6 months might contribute their opinion on the "over time it get's better" theory...
mine was the same way,no problems for several weeks... then...now this week same problem, will start truck in parking lot a 100 yards away but will not open doors, Halloween my brother seen my truck for the first time , I remote started it and he owed and hooed about it, then I spend the next 5 min. secreatly trying to unlock the door, I even killed it to act like I wasnt ready to leave2 days ago I walked the whole 100 yard trying to open the doors, I tryed holding down ; quick hits, pause to let battery recharge, finally got to truck and its still locked, I pulled out my phone and acted like I had a call as I stood outside the truck, backed away in case I was too close, walked to the other side while faking a phone call, all the time trying to unlock, finally did, yesterday same thing except finally unlocked when I was about 10 feet away, stopped at the store and it started as soon as I got outside the store, could not unlock it. period. Finally used key inside the remote, it unlocked fine, opened the door, the alarm goes off, now I am the center of attention as I jump in trying to hit the panic botton to stop it, no luck, try starting the truck with the fob, it starts and the horn gets faster, kill truck and by mashing the panic botton finally shut the alarm off, I am afraid to lock this crazy thing, like I said had no problem for several weeks, almost forgot about it

Mine acted up alot when I first got my truck last March also. But like the other poster, it has gone away. The issue that is. It opens, locks, and starts every time. The windows come down only when I want them too. Never had any problem with the windows.

I know alot of people have said they have problems in Walmart parking lots. There are details of what radio waves Walmart emits in another thread.
My wife has it happen to her where she parks at work and she has friends that drive newer chevy Malibu happens to her when she parks near the Casino where they work. My wife does not park near the Casino she parks in an offsite lot and the Casino drives them in shuttles but that is where she has issues and also near Walmart and Zehrs. I think it to do with their alarm systems personally. Now that should not be, be interesting if my key fob were to be able to disarm an alarm at some store. I have not personally seen the problem myself but my wife says it opens when as you get closer. That is nothing different than what I have experienced with other vehicles that I have had keyless. We traded Fobiks since I never use mine or rarely and she has not had a problem since. I still suspect weak batteries.

This is an edit: I talked to my wife and we just realize the police station is right behind and actually across the street from where the people are having problems opening their doors. I wonder if the Chargers the cops drive give them trouble or do they have keyless....I bet they do. I should call there and ask, you think they would tell me? LOL What does Walmart and the police have in common...maybe they put some type of antenna on the Walmart to boost signal? Walmart always seems to have the exact location the is the most favourable. We had one that was located in a busy location it was always busy, but for some reason they moved it and built a new one like 3 blocks away....I don't get it, Although they put a gas station in with it so maybe that has something do do with it. They used to give you 5 cents off a litre if you would basically put money on a card like 100 bucks or something then as you used the gas you paid with the card. It was like a bank that paid no interest until you actually spent the money....the gas station was busy as hell, then they changed it to 2or3 cents and it slowed. They took it away, gas station is closed. One across the street gives you a percentage depending on what you spend, I think but don't quote me the more you spend the more credit towards groceries you get. So the shoppers usually go to both places, who cares where you get your gas so if you can save a buck here and there, you go wherever.

The last couple times this has happened over the past 3 months doing this fixed it very fast....

Held key fob next to door, about 1 foot down from the mirror

Held lock button and within 2 seconds horns beep. I then press unlock and in I go.

The only question I have on this is WHY? You should be able to press the button and have it unlock not go through some ritual. I have never had a vehicle key fob that worked as lousy as this one. I still think that there has to be a solution and we all need to keep on Dodge about it.

Wow. Thanks for the history on the gas station.... And where do they sell gas in "litres"?
