You can change this setting and a bunch of others on the EVIC using the buttings on the steering wheel.

Also, I did same as someone else here, put new batteries in and bent the four little prongs that touch the battery, up just a bit more. Made a pretty big difference IMO.

Did you get the correct new battery? Cr2023. And you put them the remotes the right way?

It's not the FOBs or the receiver.

I have had my door open before when I tried to lock it with my FOB. When it didn't work, I immediately went and hit the actual door lock button in the door of the truck.

THAT DIDN'T WORK EITHER.

The issue is something much deeper than just the FOB not communicating properly, as the actual door lock INSIDE the truck doesn't work either when this happens.
I have two fobs, they are only 8 months old, I tried having both fobs and when one didn't work, the other did

is it a battery discharge problem? 8 months is not long

I have started Lemon Law arbitration as it appears they have a fix for the 2010/2011 but not the 2009. By the way, the 2009 used parts from a different manufacture than the 2010 and 2011, and it is the only year the used that manufacturer. It makes me think there is no known fix for that set of components, hence the change in manufacturer. That also suggests the 2009 will never be fixed, and since this can be considered a safety issue, it falls under the Lemon Law of most states.
Its happened with my 2010 also

My '09 did it sometimes and so does my '10. Must be radio interference.

I also had this problem on my 2011 Laramie Crew Cab. In addition my radio would shut off and turn back on if I hit any LARGE bumps or turned to sharp. I took it into the dealer and the ended replacing the radio and some other parts with no help. Finally we found that the 60 AMP IOD fuse under the hood was loose. Dodge has placed a quick removal "craddle" around and under the fuse but not increased the length of the fuse legs. After FIRMLY reseating that fuse I haven't had a singe issue in 3 months with the doors or radio. Not sure this will help anyone but, it solved my problems.

So let me get this straight. You stood in the cold for 8 minutes, pushing a button, instead of just pulling the key out of the remote and getting inside?

Ummmm....Oky Doky then......
