For those who's key fob stops working....
Took the truck in to the dealer today and had the computer flashed and now the key fob is working perfect. Every where I parked today I never had to push the unlock button more than once. Even in the Lowes parking where for some reason the key was always messed up. Even the range was fixed, because i used the remote start from inside the building where i work and it started the truck all the way across the parking lot which it has never been able to do. Not sure what the flash did but it fixed my problem. My worksheet said TSB 08-010-10 performed.

I took my truck in to the dealer and complained that my keyless remote only works sometimes (again). When I got it back and read the repair order, it appears they replaced the battery in the remote. It only took them 4 visits to figure it out.
Anyway, I have happened to have the door still open when trying to lock it with the fob before, and have discovered that when the issue with the fob not working occurs, the door lock button IN THE DOOR PANEL DOESN'T WORK EITHER. So it doesn't seem to be just an issue with the fob, but the entire unlock electrical system.
I have stumbled on a new bit of info here. I now question that it has anything to do with the FOB itself (a weak battery, bad connections, etc). This is because the FOB transmits a code. That code is either heard or not. Period. I now believe my truck always hears the request, it just forgets to respond. The reason I now am certain of this is because I have my locks set to unlock the driver's side on the first push, and all doors on the second. When it isn't responding and I am pushing it numerous times (never in rapid succession, always with a delay, so I know which push does what), I find that when it does finally respond (unlock + lights flash for the first time in the sequence), all four doors unlock. It would only do this if it had heard previous pushes and accepted them (in the module under the dash) but forgot to act on it) triggering the driver's door unlock and the flashing of the lights).
I took mine in today finally, and after 30 minutes or so the service dude decided to replace the messed up FOB. The spare that I never use works just fine, and the battery test they performed said the batteries were good. He said there was no reason a brand new truck shouldn't have anything that doesn't work. My new one will be in around the 28th.
