I considered a Silverado when I bought my Ram, but I think the Ram looks much better inside and out, especially with the redesign. Now that they were redesigned they are just as solid and quiet as the Silverado in my opinion. I plan to buy another in about 5 years a 2500 cummins though. I would not even test drive a Ford, ugly as sin inside and out in my opinion.

My previous truck was a 97 F-150 XL (base model), before that an 87 Ranger XLT so you can pretty much say I've always been a Ford truck kind of guy allthough I did have to fork out for trannys in both of them at about 100,000 miles. My mind was open this time though and I test drove the Fords, Chevys, GM's and the Dodge, What sold me on the Dodge was the lifetime powertrain warranty and them offering the lifetime bumper to bumper warranty to go with it. So far as happy as a big tick on a fat dog and as long as the warranties turn out to be good as they sound, hell yeah I'll go with another Dodge!!!

Man everyone stares when I go by, alll it is , is a black pickup truck with running boards and tinted windows. Everyone loves these when you go by then they have a look inside and go wow. Under the hood looks like crap to me they could have made it look sporty and more, like something special, big part of the advertising, I couldn't wait to see under that hood. Then I saw it and went, is this a six banger? Then I noticed the HEMI engraved in there. Someone needs to come up with a nicer looking engine cover. Do we have to have it on there?

This is my 3rd new dodge ram and I love it, HOWEVER, since my Dodge dealer was shut down I will not buy from a dealer 50 miles away, the closest one is even closed on saturday for service so I will have to miss work to get any warranty work or recalls taken care of, the local Ford dealership is doing my oil changes now and they kid about owning a new truck with no support within a 100 round trip that isnt even open on Sat.

My previous truck was a '99 Ford F-150 XLT supercab. It gave me 10 relatively problem-free years, but I bought a Ram this time for several reasons: I do not like the styling of the new F-150s, and a test drive did not win me over either. I was very impressed by the styling, ride, and features of the new Ram. I also was swayed by the rebates, 0% financing, etc. I would definitely buy another Ram provided this one proves to be as reliable as my old F-150 and the price is right when it's time to buy again.

I just came out a 2005 Ford Excursion, with the 6.0L Powerstroke, also with the Eddie Bauer trim package, Once that truck hit 54,000 miles everything started to go wrong. The AC buttons would work when they wanted to and the engine would hunt and surge all the time and Ford could not figure out what was going on with it. This new Dodge is a really nice truck. I test drove a GM 1500 and this truck is on a different playing field all together. That Chevy had the cheapest plastic inside,,I felt like everything I touched I came near to breaking stuff inside. I just hope Dodge continues this Gen. of trucks because they are NOW the best thats out there. Ford and Chevy are so over priced, its crazy!... I have no regret with my purchase.

I hope everyone had a good 4th!

Jeff

Yes the Ram has more storage space and a nice rumbly exhaust note, but the interior comfort and styling is miles behind GM trucks.

You all are going to ask why I got the Ram, it was because my truck was totaled on the way to work one morning. When I went to replace it there were no Chevy or GMC's in a 300 mile radius that were equipped like I wanted it, plus Dodge was taking off big bucks at the time. I guess you get what you pay for....

Its weird how people see things so differently. I see you have the same passion for cars as I do--similar taste too.

Yet--In my comparison of trucks--it was the drive and styling of the dodge that won me over...the GM products were--in my opinion-- not even close . But I respect your (and anyones) opinion. And I looked at the dodge, ford, gmc, chevy and toyota. For me dodge was easy winner-and after 11,000 miles without so much as a rattle--wouldn't change my purchase.

How'd you get the 335 to outrun the CTS-V? Just traction or mods?

I would definitely choose another Ram if I had to buy one tomorrow. This is my 3rd Ram and everytime I've bought one I've driven every truck on the market, and each time I've chosen the Ram. I think overall it's the best truck out there and I've owned many Ford & GM trucks and other vehicles. The Ford looks good on the outside, but it's underpowered and I can't stand the chintzy interior. The Chevy doesn't ride as well and isn't very appealing, inside or out. The Nissan is old, the Honda isn't a truck, and the Toyota is snub-nosed with the worst interior of them all. Anyways, if prices were all the same, I'd still choose the Ram, but considering I got 15k off my Ram and no other manufacturer was offering a deal that good, that made the choice so much easier.
