i havent used anything but superchip programmers because they can be reset quickly and also have no ill effects when being used with a cai. So a custom tune that would void my lifetime powertrain waranty doesnt sound to feasible.

If you used a Diablo or SCT, you actually hold the stock tune on the unit so you can always flash (reprogram) the PCM back to stock. It takes minutes and you don't mess with PCM cables.

The MAP sensor guys is a load informing sensor based on the amout of vaccuum in the intake manifold the PCM recognizes the load on the engine. 5 volt sensor at idle throttle closed probably 1.2 volts and wide open throttle 4.5 volts and based on load can be anything inbetween. pretty much a bullit proof design chrysler motors has been using for years!

On my scanner, you can choose whether the MAP reports as volts or inches of mercury. You can turn the key on (engine off) and it will report the atmospheric pressure. If you keep track of it you know when it is time to go fishing.

I am waiting for the diablo. It is handheld, easy to install in minutes (or un-install), and can be used for custom CMR (dyno) tuning as well.

I have found Diablo's on Chrysler products, at least in the past- to be very effective at waking the vehicle up. Stronger shift points, better mileage, substantially reduced torque management. Typically in the 25-35 hp/tq range too as far as increases.

That is exactly what this truck needs. to be woken up--it just doesn't feel like 390 hp/407 tq. especially under hard acceleration
