MOPAR CAI on order
So no one knows any numbers, either real, or estimates on the Mopar CAI? I talked to the shop foreman at my dealership. I have bought several vehicles there and have a pretty good relationship with them. He stated that 99% of the time, any aftermarket CAI will not void the warranty. Aftermarket exhaust will not either. So in saying that, I think I will take my chances with an aFe intake or K&N, that gives me some kind of numbers to go off of. I don't really want to spend $400 on an intake and find out that all I got was a neat looking intake. I will take to the dealership and find out if they have any numbers on the Mopar CAI. I will post them if they have any.
Would anyone have an argument on just adding an aftermarket drop in filter such as an aFe dry filter or K&N oiled filter, and then replacing the tubing from the air box to the intake with aftermarket tubing that is smoother? Do you think there would be any issues with doing this? I am fairly mechanically inclined, and I understand the concept of more air = more power. I feel that this can be done fairly easily. Just wondering if anyone has thought of this or tired it...
