The kit was steel, and only netted 2 inches of front lift. The kits were ones that were top spacers and a preload spacer that prevented the over extension of the upper balljoint. The top spacer was 1" thick and the preload spacer was 1/2" thick (approximately).

The material choice isn't going to matter... the companies that offer a urethane spacer have metal thread on adaptors that limit how much you can compress the urethane. Their hype about it 'isolates' or whatever else is a marketing gimmick.

I don't think you are going to find a magical solution to this problem with a difference in material choice. The problems not in the strut or spacer (unless it overextends components), but rather in the CV angles / steeper steering angles and more stress on the rack and pinion... Some people seem lucky and have no issues with the kits - other are not so lucky.

thanks for the information, checked my truck out in lo and high, no problems. I was reading were some have had issues with their stock rides. I would like the mopar 4" but the truck won't fit in my garage. I may just go the bilsteins and level the front out instead.

Lord after reading all of this I am more confused and depressed! I have no clue how to do any of this, only know the look I am going for. Where do you guys go to get this stuff done? I just want to throw some new wheels on and a set of 35's and call it a damn day!

I put my Daystar kit on myself in the garage. It was easy, just a few hours.

No kidding! It sucks that a 35" tire is the best size tires for an offroad look but at an unworthy sacrifice. The only conclusion I can come up with after reading umpteen threads on leveling kits is that there are those with horrible results and those who have no problems, YET. It seems that a leveling kit is just too much of a hassle to deal with. I'll just stick with the biggest tire I can get with stock rims and save myself the headaches of rediculous modifications, warranty issues, ride issues, etc...

I just bought a 2010 crew cab laramie with the fender flares-i measured from the edge of the rim to the bottom of the fender flare-(wanted to be sure my measurments were exact instead of sing a spot on the tread) the opeening was 14" at the rear and 10 at the front.
My brothers 09 sport looks to be 2-3 inches higher than mine in the front.
Although I only have 700 kms on it I assume the back will settle a bit-could they have set my front end to the 2 wheel drive height?
Could I add a 1 inch spacer without dealing with binding? If so where to get it?
