'busas are seriously over rated... i know of only about two people who could keep up with me on one back when i used to ride, and they were guys who could keep up with me even if they spotted me 30 HP... they were that much better than me.

There are tons of faster machines on the road now, but they are all seriously fast. (not like our trucks, which is the point of the thread.)

I'll share my experience just to keep this thread alive.

I had the cruise sitting on around 77 coming back from the parents house one afternoon. I was in the left lane and came up on a Mustang GT/CS Vert. Not sure on the exact year but it was a 2005+. I moved over into the right lane to pass and about the time I get up beside them, I hear the car downshift (had exhaust on it). I got a grin on my face and put it to the floor. Now my truck is a Hemi 4x2 with 3.55s not the 4.7 as the OP. We ran side by side with me pulling on him. I gained about a car length and then he let out which is a good thing because I was almost on the limiter.

Do I think my truck is faster than a Mustang? No

I hit second gear on the downshift and he probably only hit third, it gave me the advantage.

In fontana I beat a 2001 GT. He ran 15 flat and I ran 14.4. Then I got waxed by a 12 sec fox body. I know the times seem slow but everyone that day was running about 1/2 to a full second slower than normal.

Glad to see your taking it to the track, thats where racing belongs! I have not raced my truck on the track, i just use it to tow my bike to the track. I would think that 14.4 is quick for such a big vehicle and would like to see that or even try it.

As for the bike, i get about 40 runs a year and run consistantly around 9.8 through the 1/4 mile. Not many street legal bike are breaking 10 seconds but that's just the skill level of our local talent. Ton's of fun and nobody gets hurt.

I raced a 95 mustang GT this past saturday. I ran a 14.2 to his 14.8. Fontana always sucks. Every one always runs .25-.50 seconds slower there. Sometimes even worse. Got a video but kinda leary of posting it up on a ram forum. Dont wanna get flammed. lol

There was a few bikes there breaking 9's including one that was a 9.1 @ 156 mph. Think he was turbocharged. Not for all the money in the world would I race a bike that fast on at the track. Hats off to those that do. Im surprised their ***** fit in their pants.

Busa tom---Yeah I agree man. Been there done that with the streetracing scene. Longstory short I'm lucky I'm still alive. Owned 3 mustangs and raced them. 65 289,94GT 5.0 5speed RIP,and a 2001 Bullitt that I think could have taken my R/T. Well maybe lol! Yeah running against a mustang is like playing the lottery. Sometimes they're easy to take and others have you saying WTF just happened? lol!

SoCal--I'm up for seeing it man. If you dont want to post it feel free to email it to me.

The mustang was a '96-98 which would've had the weak early 4.6L
'94-95s have horizontal taillights and a 5.0L with ~220hp
'96-98s have Vertical taillights and a 4.6L with ~215hp as opposed to the 260 for the 99-04 and the 300 for the 05-09 base GTs

Not trying to take away from the win . . .

Nice, my question would be, which take off would be quicker?
3:92s 4x4h or 4x4low or in rear whels only?
