i will possibly be in the market one day. looks like the best bet so far. but im not in a hurry so ill wait till they get all the bugs worked out.

question. since i have never had a tuner i dont know.

does the handheld programmer thing stay plugged in the whole time? where do you keep it? do u just download what you want and then put in the glove box?

lastly, why do i "need" this. lol. what will i be gaining in the real world. ?

How easy is it for the tranny to go when adjusting the TM?
I've been running the trans options (since alpha) for 6 months on 8% TM and no issues. We have 20+ betas in the group and no issues. There will be multiple settings.

Also, the shift schedule and TM together is a thing of beauty. It will transform a daily driver for the better.

The base tuning is available and very solid. We have three betas in the group running it without a hitch. They'll soon be testing the expanded trans options.

In the real world you'll be improving how your truck performs and shifts.

Diablo review....

Fuel saver light no longer correct
93 tune was very NICE! But issues with downshift when cold air temps existed.
87 tune = PING when under moderate to hard accerleration and coming out of MDS with moderate to heavy acceleration.
MPG was about .8 MPG difference. This is as honest a number as I could give. I knew it was in the mail, ran a FULL tank down to about 1 gallon with stock tune driving easy. Put on 93 tune, filled up and drove the same with the exception on one WOT and ended up .8 different. Of course air temp, ect can affect, so take it for what it is worth.
Support poor IMHO.
No 91 tune.
Confusing product to an extent. Unless you know before hand or have a reseller who cares you WILL end up with a tuner and no way to attach to your PC to download updates unless you buy the optional comm kit.

Superchips is on my list in 3 weeks, waiting on the real world review. I will of course post my experience as well, good or bad. The SC I had on a 02 TransAm was great.

Ok I am new to this forum but a active member on others and was asked to come here and answer some questions

I can tell you that the 93 tune is a awesome tune for us 09 owners ... here is some basic street numbers for you:
93 tune
mds off
speed limiter @ 140
rev limiter @ 6400
1-2 wot shift @ 5950
2-3 wot shift @ 5950

New best time 14.15 @ 98 mph

ok couple more questions.

with these tuners for our trucks we dont need to worry about running any other aftrmarkt gauges such as a/f ratio etc do we?

when running a 93 tune is anything gained besides more power? gas mileage?

will a full CAI actually work with the use of a tuner?(i have heard that on a stock motor after a couple weeks the motor efi compensates for the cai and you basically gain nothing)

will this tuner be able to adjust for tire size recalc and enable the mds light in the early builds?

Answers inline.

so where is the cheapest place to buy one so far? everyone keeps talking about how great this tuner is, that it does much more than the Bullydog Triple GT one, figured i'd better go with this one.

Question: What does adding a superchip do to the life of the powertrain? I would think that Chrysler tweaked the settings to maximize the life of the truck.

good question. im not out trying to race mustangs in my 6000lb truck. i dont hate the people who do. just not my style. but it might make sense for someone like me. im planning on putting the bilstien leveling struts, 285/65/20 BFG all terrains, possibly a CAI etc. so from what i hear just by adding those bigger tires i might lose a mpg or 2, so maybe with a tuner i might end up back to where i was, with the additional power as a plus also....i might play with them a little bit, but im not to concerned about how hard the trans bangs into gear......

when creating programs for vehicles we believe in making drivability and powertrain longevity our top priority.

Our tuning should improve engine longevity thanks in part to the fine tuning we perform on the engines air fuel ratio's allowing the combustion chamber to stay at a cooler temp over the factory trims where the vehicle runs fat with fuel. We also provide you with a reduction in trans wear due to our tightening up of the slip between shifts.
