I'm about there with you on this. When I redo the shift points this weekend, I will disable it for now and see how bad the gas mileage is affected. Truck is a daily driver and does 70% of it on the highway so I was initially against it but for weekends and around the back woods roads, it has always been more of a hassle and is more like driving your manual in 5th gear at 20mph if you know what I mean. I have thought this all along, even before the superchips mod so now I can see the real difference with my truck on the same drives.

Okay Professor BlueEdge (funny, lol)...I'll put it another way. With the tire aired 100 percent and sitting on the ground you loose at best .5 inches as worst case scenario...but it "doesn't" matter because your tire will expand to that half an inch at high revolutions proving Sils as an accurate measurement. And since you claim to use knowledge of geometry...if the tire is flattened somewhat on the ground because of the weight of the truck while having the correct amount of inflation, the air is moved to other parts expanding the tire. If you put your fist half way into a 12 inch balloon it will expand increase in circumference...therefore your theory is null and voided, lol! You did prove one thing...you know your geometry well enough to argue a point with someone giving advice on the forum, lol! Geometry this one, lol: You can find your correct gear ratio by using one revolution of your tire whether it's inflated or not compared to the amount of revolutions of your drive shaft...go figure and report back, he he!

Your tire is not rotating (at highway speeds) fast enough to expand like a dragster's tire. Take a look at another car beside you on the highway some day to verify that the bottom is still compressed. And I have no idea why you think it matters that the displaced air expands other parts of the tire. The distance traveled in one rotation (circumference) is only related to the radius from hub center to the ground since that's the effective size of the 'circle' that is being measured.

Might want to revisit your whole 'driveshaft gear ratio' thing too. Though that does give you the gear ratio of the rear end it doesn't tell you anything about the distance the vehicle travels in one rotation of the axle. And THAT is the piece of info you need to determine distance and speed, which is the whole point of adjusting your tire size via the SuperChips device (to make your speedo accurate).

But thanks for trying...

I'm running the 91 tune with your recommended changes. I think the tune will actually get a little better next fuel up I do. I had 1/2 a tank of 89 in there before I added 93 and did the 91 tune.

You're right about the dragster because of the slicks being a softer compound, they expand much more but a tire doesn't have to spin that fast to expand. And yes...I tried but failed and you are most kindly welcome sir, lol! As far as the driveshaft thing..I've been doing it all of my life and it's accurate enough to where I don't have to pull the inspection cover to know what's in any rear end! To make your speedo accurate is to measure tire height to gear ratio, it's the whole point of Sils post. But you know what..I give up, lol...you win! I'll just sit back and enjoy reading and learning from people like you, lol!

When you change the TM settings you just put all the numbers the same? When I set them to user and look at the individual numbers they are like 70% or more. Do you just put them all to 8% or 6% as in your case?

What does Sils mean by "STACKING SHIFTS" in reference to the user assigned shift schedule graphs that he has linked us to?

Again, referencing the graphs from those links, which shift lines should not be crossed as a result of USER assigned shift schedules?

Reading another forum, one SC user got his tranny confused by his user shift schedule and it shifted to neutral at WOT and red lined his hemi. Afterwards he tuned back to stock and the tranny was still confused.

I don't want to make a similar FUBAR.
