hey mrbb1. you said that a majority of the people on this forum are 1500 1/2 ton owners and not 3/4 ton. go see how many 3/4 ton owners are on the toyota forum. none! go to any web site on towing/trailering and look at their pick. i'll give you a hint. its not a toy.

love how sensitive people are, start out asking if anyone has a 2010 ram hemi, and if they know about up dates, then ask about of anyone has a tundra, and what they like dislike, and get all sorts of bashing, and talk about what i should be comparing

I am not an idiot, I know what a tundra is, and what a 1/2 ton is and what a 3/4 ton is
and that they are all different.
as for upgrade, its out there for all
again, I never was comparing apples to oranges

just looking for guys that actually have a 2010 2500 hemi!
I never expected to get good gas MPH with a fullsize truck! never mind the motor in it
just think dodge has sat on its *** a long time with its Hd series( YES I know it got 2500 of the year, but again what else out there sucks too in gas!) so no party form my eyes! on the award

the Tech out there on 1/2 tons in just the past 5 yrs, blows out what a 3/4 ton truck, all the tech up grade into them the past 15 yrs!
That's been my point!
come on Nascar has 750hp car going 200mph, and getting 8 mpg's, why cannot a truck get 15 pulling 3,000 lbs on a highway!

and lastly, no duh! toyota forums don't have a 3/4 ton truck ha ha ha. you brilliant!
and too! I need a 3/4 for weight, and moving stuff about the farm,, and an 8 ft bed, ( I haul more than groceries.
I do not towing extreme heavy stuff far and all the time, so a gas does meet needs of what I do!!
what I tow far, a full size truck should pull like it wasn't there, not drop gas mpg 30%, thats huge, and **** poor per gal average any ways! empty at 12 mpg, and 8 towing 3,000 lbs! come on that sucks! they have to be able to do better, my old 1970's v-8's did that and towed better! 40 years later, its the same!!!! come guys!!

american truck companys are lucky they don't( toyota) have 3/4 ton trucks! in USA
forgen companys have swallowed a ton of us sales, due to the fact they stepped up the tech they put into there products( thus making usa maker have to step up some , yes)
So, if they did, odds are it would have the better technolgy of a 3/4 ton out there, as it would have to be better to get sales!
and as such, I just might buy one!!

don't believe me, look at all the sales those forign co.'s have!
toyota is Number one in usa market sales!
wonder why!

don't believe me,
then why again are foriegn autos selling so much!!!
has to be some where!
all usa maker are in debt! why???

all said and done! I have never owned a forgien auto, car or truck!
I am still an american( I don't even vacation outside of the good old usa!)
just wish american makers would step up!!
and keep american's prowd to own one!, like they used to be!
almost a 100 yrs of making car/trucks, and they cannot make one last!
bullcrap! we americans have learned to just settle for crap!

but again, I cannot maintain speed with a 3000 lb trailer/load over a hill!
I just pulled a car transporter w/ a 3000 lb camaro on it over 300 miles from Ft. Hood, TX to Lubbock, TX, with no problems whatsoever maintaining 70 mph. Averaged 13 mpg while I was doing it, and no, it was not all flat terrain, there were some hills too. I have a 2010 Ram 1500 Laramie Quad Cab w/ the 5.7 Hemi. I understand that's not exactly what you're looking for, but if all you're pulling is a few thousand pounds, they DO make 1500s with an 8 ft bed, and you said your farm is mostly level as well...just my opinion but I don't think you'd have much trouble if any with a 1500.

CaliAthlete
they do not make a 1500 with an 8 ft bed, in a quad cab, I need indide room, as I travel out west with 2 guys each fall
and as for you towing, I again, , my complaint is, the half tons are more up to date and tow with better gas on what they can tow!

they have better trans, or should I just say more modern trans, and computers on the motors, and the motors make Hp at different ranges

again, feedback on 1500 towing, is useless to compare to a 2500 hemi! different monsters

as for sensitive, no I am not, I just enjoy those that post so much off subject!
I even added smie my self, knowing i will take heat! its ok, it kinda what forums are for, everyones opinions!

just wish more guys on here had a 2500 hemi to give me real helpful imput!
I want a 3/4 ton, gas because it is on paper all i need,
problem is after owing so many dodges 3/4 tons, and not seeing any improvements over the past 15 yrs on there towing and gas mph, I have real world imput! that no one one here seems to understand
I like dodges, better than the rest, in looks and even ways there built, I like solid axles, on trucks!! , and pickings getting few!

I have been driving big V8's a long time, and towed with all of them, and I had many trucks from the 70's and 80's, that pulled alot better, than the 2006 I currently have!
and did so with the same or better gas MPG!1

Thats my grip, why in 40+ yrs cannot they make a 3/4 ton better,
I know emisions are a big deal, but come on
they got diesels putting out vapor that we can drink!!, talk about clean, and power out the wazoo with them,
dodge has a 500 hp viper, getting much better gas mph!
why ain't that motor in a truck!, it was!
actually had one!( in a standard cab, and got rid of it for another quad cab!, only a 360)
it towed great, and got better gas mpg! than both my hemi's!

so, bring it on guys, I can take it,
but would really just like real feedback from 2500 gas owners!
but will take what I get!

a viper also does not weigh as much and is not a brick (compared to a pickup)

wow I never knew that!!!!!!!!!!
my point is the possibility is there, they had a v-10 in the HD's and it towed better and got better mpg's!!

what again my point is, take some of the new tech they have and start putting it to better use!
how many guys have a viper??
alot more people drive 3/4 1 ton trucks, so they need to put more into these!

your questions have been asked and your points have been made.

but now this thread is just turning into bashing american products and sarcastic remarks...

so if anyone has anything CONSTRUCTIVE to add to his original question... add it.

but if things proceed as they are i will just lock this thread because its headed down a wrong path
