I'm having that problem as well. It's worse in the summer. Had a brow installed and it still does it. Even wearing shades doesn't help. It reflects right under them.
Looks like flat black it is! I get hit with the ones on the door handles at times too.

So I have been reading and you were saying they won't warranty your engine , there is a guy who had work done on his heads when they put the oil plug in after an oil change he dumped all his oil luckily not far from home, like a few house away or something. They said it will not affect his lifetime warranty. What ever happened there man?

This was started a long time ago, most guys are just painting them...much to my dismay. I think they look like hell black and I lied to everyone Isaid it looks good too. My conscience got the best of me. My wife and I don't have any issue with that ring. My kids who drive it rarely don't complain, are you kidding they love it. maybe put your sunglass case there on that spot that was so shiney or something else? I don't have the issue, gladly. Good Luck keep you eyes on the road and off the shiney stuff.

It's hard to see the road when you've got the sunlight in your eyes from reflecting off that stupid chrome trim ring.

Actually that looks better to me than the chrome. Is the chrome ring part plastic or metal?

The biggest coplaint next to the pleather seats is the chrome ring......here in North Texas the sun is always high enough to get hit the right spot on the chrome ring to blind you! I got me a new pair of Oakleys to handle it though....no more Glare!

For $300 +or- I'm going to redo the whole console and radio panel with hydrographics. Prolly a mix of carbon fiber and something else. Haven't decided yet. As for the chrome interior door handles: I thing that they are available in black but haven't confirmed that yet.

Here is what I ended up doing. I painted the entire dash and the Ring an OD green color. I really like it. It was real easy to do and cost me about $20 bucks. I know I suck at photography but it is the best I had.
