I just ordered a Lockpick V3 on ebay. (It is either going to work, or I will toss it out)

My question is, I just put in a REN radio along with the uconnect module and mic. I haven't had the 10' Ram flashed yet, as the next available appointment to do so is not until next Friday.
Will adding a Lockpick enable Uconnect without taking it to the dealer? Would save me 42 dollars for the flash fee they want to charge.

When I first installed the REN, the Uconnect worked for a few minutes, then after the computer synced up, it stopped and now gives me the option not available message.

 

If lockpick V3 works like allgig, it should enable the u-connect for you without having to have the dealer flash it. I'm not 100% on this, but I also think you can enable u-connect via the engineering menu in the radio. Do a google search to find the procedure, but its something like holding down the seek down, seek up and menu buttons all at the same time. Good luck with your install.

 

Thanks for the reply. I looked through the engineering menu, but I could not find any option that looks like it would enable it.

I called the dealers in the area, including the one I bought the truck from last week. They each wanted 100 dollars ( an hour of labor) just to do it. Seems outrageous to me, so I will wait for the LP to arrive.

okay my satellite radio works, I guess it takes awhile once you have the radio unplugged for i t to resync. My v3 works perfectly.

 

Cool about the sat. Pepsico, it is only a .5 hour alllowed job for the dealer. Download the instructions for it and you will see. So put that in their face. If I knew exactly where to get them I would put a link but I am sure you can find them.

 

They send all the instructions with it. I ordered mine from Ebay and I have been receiving support from Coastal via email then they asked for my receipt number told them I didn't have one , where I bought it on ebay and when and they called me with the info I needed we had a great talk. I think they had some issues in the beginning but have smoothed them out. Everything depends on the radio you have if you put the dip switches in the wrong place before you hook it up you have to unhook it to make the changes. Just to show you they are rockin on the customer service.

 

Sorry for so late of a response but this is exactly what i questioned and when you hook it up since mine is working already I thought i leave it alone. First comes the plug from the lockpick then the unconnect one then the radio one and your unconnect should work without dealer assistance. Also you can email or call Coataltech even if you bought it at titaniumcouple on ebay. I did sent my info phone number he called today Carlos or Marco I forget but I think Carlos was his name. He cleared up a few things that kind of didn't make sense to me in the instructions because I have uconnect working but the same way pepsico has it. I think I would pay the 47 and get it in the system.But will lockpick not suppose to need to. Did you do it yet by the way?

 

I'm still not sure why you keep trying to defend them to me. They failed me. Period. I'm glad you are happy. I, like many other people they have failed, was not happy.

 

I have not yet received the lockpick, I have a dealer appointment tomorrow to get it flashed. If the lockpick comes today, I will try and get it working without flashing it. If I doesn't arrive today, then I will follow through with my appointment.

So you have the Uconnect module going to the lockpick and the lockpick going to the radio?

Or do you have the Lockpick going to the Uconnect module and the Uconnect going to the Radio?

Lockpick plugs into radio, uconnect to lockpick then the radio cord last that is what Coastal told me. make sure all connections are made and dipswitches are correct before hooking up the actual LockPick box to its connector. If you find you goofed a dip switch or something you have to turn off truck open driver door if you don't want to take out fuse or release power you have to umplug the lockpick make the changes then plug the lock pick back in. Now I cannot say this works since I havent done mine yet but it is in the instructions and it was part of my discussion with the tech for Chrysler at Coastal.
Secret you can be as cynical as you want, I am usually that way but I believe these guys are trying to mend their ways. So the first few versions have flaws well I have and 09 without a locking tailgate but my uncle whom got the same employee deal as me because of me get a locking tailgate...it's the way it is in the beginning.
