Default 7.5 mpg, all I can expect??

After enjoying my 1995 Dodge ram 1500 for 15 years, (it was an awesome truck except for the gas mileage) I decided to stick with Dodge & got myself a 2010. I was really impressed with the window sticker on the truck when it stated that the truck would get 25 mpg on highway & 17 mpg city!! Wuhoo I thought to myself, as having the truck I like the most & get fantastic mileage!
Well low & behold, this truck has substantially worse gas mileage than my old 95 318 truck!!!!! My o'l girl averaged 9 mpg all city driving, the new one with 16000 broken in kilometers is only getting 7.5 miles per fricken gallon!!!!!!!!!! The local dealer says there is nothing wrong with it, that's just the way it is!!
Is anyone else's this bad? Do you think I just got a lemon? Or # 3, could there be something seriously wrong with it that can be fixed? ( I am hoping for #3 as I do like the truck, I just can't afford to drive it!!!!!!

If you're getting 7.5 mpg, you have a problem. Return to the dealer.

Your dealer is a Duechbag. Bring it back. If they don't do anything for you, then tell him you are calling the States Attorney Generals Office and filing a complaint. They put a sticker back on the truck that stated a certain mileage. You have a reasonable expectation to get close to that mileage. (Though yours may vary...) If they knowingly sold you a vehicle that didn't even get half the displayed mileage, that is called FRAUD.
Did you get it from a Dodge Dealer? If so contact the complaint department and ask for the Arbitration board. Let them know you are calling the BBB, and the newspapers.
Just the comment "That's the way it is" means they know nothing about the truck, or customer service. Did they do a scan on it? Is that 7.5 MPG off the EVIC display or have you actually checked the gas in the tank to the actual mileage on the odometer. Never believe the EVIC display. I can drive around all day and get 16mpg but go down a hill I can get it up to 19mpg and then get 19mpg all day.

Hey if all else fails park out front with a big sign saying that the dealer is a Rip Off. You won't believe how quick you get service doing that. I got a lemon Chevrolet Monza Spyder way back in 1980(ish) wouldn't help me. I parked out front with a sign. Got a new car within a week.

You have to hand calculate to be sure.

25 MPG on the sticker? Which cab config and motor do you have?

In any event 7.5 MPG is crazy, only time I've been near that is towing 5K at 80 mph with the truck fully loaded. How are you calculating it?

Man I didn't even get that bad when I was pulling 6k from NC down here to FL. There is definitely something wrong with it. Take it back and get it fixed or get a new one.

Yeah, I dunno where they pulled that window sticker out of, but the best MPG configuration of any 2010 is a base, regular cab ST V6 4x2 which is rated for 20/14.

But regardless, 7.5 mpg is horrid and would tell me either A) your city driving is about all stop and go, B) your driving habits are terrible, or C) there is an issue with your truck.

I have my NON MDS Hemi 4x4 weighing almost 7000 lbs., am rolling on 35" tires and can at least average 10 mpg in the middle of Orlando. 15/12 is about the norm for me.

What is your truck? Fill out your signature so we know engine, axle gear etc.Bet nothing wrong with truck. If anything was out of parameters that bad you'd have a check engine light on etc.Need to check mileage by hand and look at your driving habits.Have you done any tire or wheel swaps?

Really? My 2009 Crewcab SLT 4x2 Hemi with 3.21's was rated 20/14 also

I'm only getting 10 mpg right now according tO the evic. Combo of winter gas, relatively short trips (8 miles each direction) , cold weather, warming the truck up a few minutes, and a leveling kit, and SC 93 tune with MDS disabled.
