Same issue.

I called my dealer, and they stated they have some new software that came out and the vehicle needs to be flashed. Said to bring it on in.

I will say my dealer is great. No questions asked. It helps being in a small town and knowing that they need to treat the ppl good to keep their business.

Having this same issue except, when you use the key, not fob, to unlock door, alarm goes off, and fob will not shut it off. Cleaned contacts, new battery ect, and both fobs are involved. 2011 Dodge Journey. using fob car will not start, unlock, or respond at all.

If you lock the truck with the fob it arms the alarm. Only the fob can disarm it. Using the manual key will always set it off. Have to lock it manually or with the door button in order to use the key and not set it off.

Has anyone on here had the issue where the truck randomly unlocks itself? I'm thinking it's a fob issue as I replaced the battery and cleaned the contacts which helped the issue for about 3 weeks. However, now it's unlocking itself again once the fob gets in range of the truck.

Really annoy and definitely worrisome as I have expensive work equipment in my truck.

Thanks for the help guys.

Wife was shopping at Canadian Tire. When she left the store, she could not unlock our 2010 Grand Caravan. She went to the auto counter and had them replace FOB battery. Still would not unlock. They tested the FOB and found that it was in working order, but still would not unlock van. I arrived with the second FOB and it open the van. The dealer was just down the road so I went there hoping for a quick replacement, but I needed to make an appointment!
When I walked out of the dealership, I tried it again, and...presto, it worked!

Giulio,

I sorry to hear about the intermittent trouble you've experienced with your key fob.

Was any other function of the key acting up? Did it still start the van? Do you have the remote power lift gate, and if so, did it work? Or was it just the unlock/lock buttons that were not working?

In some cases the button contacts can wear out, resulting in intermittent function.

Thanks for your response DC. It's not worn out buttons or dead batteries that's causing the main issue. The fobs are emitting RF signals (tested with RF meter) 100% of the time. It's something that causes interference with the RF signal reception. It's been going on as long as I've owned my vehicle (2009) and from what i can gather, a couple of years before that. It's very disappointing that something has not been done to address this issue especially since it is so prevalent in the early models of the gen 4 trucks.
And to answer your question, no, none of the other buttons will create a response either. When my truck will not respond to doors unlocking, it will also not respond to:
door lock
engine start
panic button
It will also not respond to the second key fob.
All you can do is move around the truck with arms akimbo, imitating a rain dance until it decides it wants to work.
