key fob problems
My 2009 Ram has had the intermittent issue pretty much sinceI purchased the vehicle. Doesn’t matterwhich key fob I use. Replacing thebattery seemed to help for awhile. Inthe last month I have had 3 episodes of having to push the button numerous timesto get the doors to unlock. Also had asituation where using the door lock switch on the arm rest took a few times toget the lock to engage.
I might bring it up the next time I take the truck in forservice. I will only have them work onthe issue if it’s covered under the extended warranty. After over 5+ years, I have learned to live with it.

My dealer ordered the part and I'm gonna have it installed free of charge(because I filled the complaint before the basic warranty was up). Ill let you all know if it works.
Update;
It is not the TIPM
I would like to see it the dealer had a TSB for the 09 like stated earlier in this thread. It would be worth a try. I think if enough people called the recall hotline it might get resolved, but most people just say forget it and live with it.
By the way, I had to press the unlock button 15 times to open just the other day. Really irks me.

Had both the fobs replaced on my 2011 RAM back in 2012 (see posts) the old ones are defective. There's an updated fob. My dealer knew nothing of this until I printed & brought the bulletin off this site to them. Never had another malfunction after this...
Don't know if it was actually a bulletin but a memo from Chrysler to the dealers.If I can find it I will repost. Here's an old post from another member talking about this...Old 03-07-2011, 08:44 PM

Hey guys, Im in Toronto Canada and have had this problem with the remotes on and off since day one. Last summer I went to the dealer with this problem and of course the remotes worked so the dealer did nothing about. Last Saturday I decided to go back to the dealer with this remote problem and to my surprise the dealer told me that Chrysler knows of the problem with the remotes for the 09 ram and that they now use a different manufacturer. The dealer programmed two brand new remotes for me under warranty. So far so good.
