Tire Falls Off. Near Collision. Advice?
Exactly. Use some common sense. One of the problems we have today is a sue-happy society... every time something happens some people look for a reason to sue. Just man up, expect fair treatment, and don't go looking for something for nothing. Lawsuits are intended to compensate someone when they've been damaged, or haven't received fair compensation. If your dealer makes you whole, you're fairly compensated... and luckily, you personally suffered no damages.

If they fix everything and give you a loaner there is no reason for legal action.
A good dealer will also give you something for such a situation, if they do not, asking for something (nicely) will usually yield good results. I would be going for a sport style hood at cost or something like that.

Someone aske why I was so hung up on oil changes or detailing: its not that I am hung up on it. Its just something small that I thought may be attainable or a nice way for the dealer to say sorry. I don't expect mega compensation so I just rattled off a couple things that were small as an example
The service manager contacted me today (a Sunday where the dealer is closed) so I figure that's a good sign they are going to do right by me.
I don't now or never did consider pursuing legal action. As said many times there were no injuries to me or anyone else, thank god.

I am not sure where along the line in this thread people got the idea I was considering a lawsuit. At not time did I even hint that I was thinking this.....this thread has turned from a what would the dealer usually do in this situation to an anti-litigation thread

[quote=Medic1;2481794]I don't think anyone thought you were saying you were going to sue, but if you look at the beginning of the thread it didn't take long for some to start suggesting it.
