I have LED lights up there right now and they do a great job of lighting up everything when I unlock the truck, but HID would be better.

I did not do projectors. The cost to do projectors in the highs, lows, and fogs was a little out of my price range. I did want the lights to be the same color though, that’s why I replace all 3. The 55w 5k lights are not too drastic of a color change from the factory light color. I have not been flashed yet. My buddy put 55k 6k in his ford in the lows and fogs and got flashed 2 times the first night.

My lights are super bright but could pass as a factory option for people who don’t know much about vehicles. The 6k looks too blue to be factory in my opinion. I don’t know how much of a difference this makes to people who meet you driving.

I really like how the colors are the same. No matter if I run my highs and lows, or my lows and fogs, on all 3 the color on the road looks the same and blends into one big area of light.

I don’t have a switch to keep my fogs and highs on yet. I had someone holding the stalk back when I took that picture. My dealer did say he would try to see if his Tech tool could enable to fogs to stay on with the highs, but we haven’t got together yet to try it. Someone called this a "euro flash", but I haven’t got a 100% answer if it can be done.
I am an electrician so wiring it in so the ballast is somewhere else but inside the housing is not a problem! Can either one of you guys tell me if the bulbs are the same size? Cause If they are then I will do just that and put HIDs in the top! First guy to do that? I think that would be more useful!

I think the color temp depends on the manufacture too. I have ordered 6K and they have been white (on my 07) I ordered the same 6K from a different company and I got a blue light. I don't mind the blue because its not blue blue, but its a white with blue in it. I think it varies, I think its getting to the point where you have to specify "I want crystal white, or blue, or yellow", to get the color you want

I was wondering how you got your highs on with the fogs, without a tuner I believe the only way to do it is to re-do the wiring and add relays in! I believe the starscan tool will do it, but finding someone to do it is pretty tough. I know here in Canada you have to know a buddy in a dealer and he/she has to be stealth about even doing it for you. Its illegal here to run with that, so people who have the tool here are hesitant to do it. That seems to be why starting on the 2010 that option has now disappeared on the tuners. On the bullydog anyways.

Yes I had that issue too! I just turned it the other way and boom they lit up...

Nate...you won't be the first if I beat you to it! j/k (I'll let you be the guinea pig and test it)

But these ballasts are tiny, I am going to pop my cargo light out and see what room there is to work with...

Yah I'll take a peek tomorrow since the sun is setting here soon on the good ol east coast. They are both 921 bulbs so they should honestly work wiring wise.

The only thing I think that'll be an issue is the depth of the light housing using the HID bulb. I'll pull it out of my tail light tomorrow and stick it in the cargo light housing and give you a heads up!

sweet much appreciated! I would but I don't have anything to compare it to!

I think it would be pretty sweet to have them in there, might take a little fabricating and wiring but I should be able to handle that!

I know they are both 921 and the LEDs I put in were a little longer than the factory bulb, the hid should fit though. I would like to see this done.

I put one HID in my reverse light and one HID to compair and the HID blew the LED away, but the LED blew the factory bulb away to.

Yes mine do to, but they are very dim. They also stay on when the truck is running. Durring the day, you cant see them, but at night you can kind of tell that they are on. Not sure why?

Well to fix it you need to wire in a 1 ohm resistor to eliminate the dim light that stays on. (Nate could prob. chime in on this and verify that) I never put one in b/c I wasn't to concerned about it, I'm just hoping there's room for the ballasts to squeeze in there w/ that massive amount of wiring.
