Default Air Conditioning not working 2010 ram

hi there,

I have a 2010 dodge ram 1500 at the beginning of this summer I turned on my air conditioning and it would only blow warm air. Ive figured out that my compressor isn't engaging. Ive checked the fuse compartment and checked all of the hvac fuses. the owners manual diagram and the diagram under the hood have two different placement of fuses. according to the owners manual I have fuse (IOD-HVAC, U/Hood Lamp) that ins't getting power. I've checked for power at the A/C switch with a light tester and only got a very dull light. I've also unplugged the harness at the clutch and checked for power and there is nothing. thanks in advance for any help

before you check out any thing else you need to have the freon checked for pressure, if there is none you have a leak, if there is enough then you go looking for electrical

If it is low on freon would that make the AC unit not turn on? Because i assume even with low feelin the unit should still engage? Am I wrong

No. With low freon the a/c clutch will not engage. Hence no power there. The blower will still blow air, but it wont kick the clutch on to prevent damage to it. Have the freon checked.

Low freon compressor will not engage. Its to keep from tearing it up. Low PSI switch.

My 09 has had the exact same issue, warm air out 3 times now. First 2 times for defective HVAC control heads (yes 2 ), just recently for a defective evaporator whatever that is. All under 09 warranty thankfully. My guess is you will go the same route with the HVAC control unit....NOT cheap...... Let us know, good luck.
