Default "Salesman" mislead Ram customer

Well Ram truck done it again.
I just took my new 2013 Ram 1500 Crew Cab for a inspection spin, load and behold my truck w/8 speed transmission does not come with the stop n go feature. I also notice that when I look at EVIC you can not adjust the backlight to different colors like it was represented in the promotional information.
My sales rep. had no real answer other than those features are not available.
Not available yet they're highlighting that feature on there videos.
What a lot of bull, in my business if I miss represent something I'm either paying to make it right, or could be sued.
I also have to say that there final inspection should try a little better job, I found three paint finish problem. Two are very small and not easy to notice, but the one is very easy to spot right by the running boards.

Where did you see the RAM advertised having start/stop standard? Did the Dealer tell you this - if they did then yes they mislead you. The stop/ start is only available on the HFE (High Fuel Efficiency) Model. Nowhere on the internet, that I could find, does it say the start stop technology is standard, it is only available on select (HFE) models

http://www.motortrend.com/auto_shows...k/viewall.html

Either Ram engine can be paired with an eight-speed automatic (a quasi-six-speed with ultra-closely spaced fifth and sixth gears remains standard). Auto stop-start technology is available with either engine when paired with the eight-speed transmission, and uses a stronger, more durable starter and battery.

http://www.allpar.com/model/ram/dodg...owertrain.html

The eight-speed makes a stop-start system possible, and one is available on “select Ram 1500 models:” it automatically shuts the engine off when the truck comes to a complete stop, conserving fuel. The engine restarts instantly when the gas pedal is used.

http://gas2.org/2012/04/09/2013-ram-...tartstop-tech/

But the Pentastar V6 will be the only one available with start-stop technology, and it will also include active grille shutters and an air-ride suspension that lowers the pickup at highway speeds, reducing drag.

You are correct that the current videos show that its only available on the V6 HFE, the video I was talking about were about the animated pre-release information on 2013 Ram.
Also my dealer should of made it cleared that my Laramie V8 8spd, did not have that feature as I ask him about it.
Probably was afraid I might not order the truck, even though that was just a feature I thought was very interesting to have on the truck.

OK, I see. I may be wrong, but is my understanding that the start/stop feature has its own (separate) battery. I am not sure I am thrilled about the whole concept but it will be interesting to hear from those who do get this option how they like it. Congratulations on your new truck, how do you like that 8 speed? What do you like best about your new truck so far?

I don't think you can blame Dodge for advertising some of their newest features on the truck. Most any vehicle advertised shows "starting price", but all the images are fully loaded up examples. I can see being disappointed you didn't have the option, but a little research would have told you that before you placed your order. I don't think Dodge misrepresented it. You're dealer...well, only you know. But it seems pretty common dealers are a bit under-informed themselves. Any new car/truck I've bought, I know far more about it than the salesman I wind up working with. I'm sure that's a pretty common experience.

As far as paint imperfections, that's common on any finish...OEM or otherwise. If you find it to be unsatisfactory, pass on the purchase. I know it sucks to wait on an order and then have to start over...but it's better than settling for something (at that price) and being frustrated with it. Perfection is hard to come by...maybe even impossible.

Sounds more like you did not do your research. But whatever. If you like the truck then just be happy. If not try to get the dealer to replace it -which they won't. Sell it and buy a Ford with turboboost.

The 8spd is very smooth, I will probably watching my speedometer to make sure I'm not speeding. The best thing I like is that I have the Crew Cab w/6.4' bed. I now have leg room in the back, and still have a good bed area.

No, I can not blame Ram, but my dealer I can.
He should know as there is only ONE version of the 1500 that offer that feature.
Like I said it would a nice feature, but its not the main reason why I ordered the truck.
As for the paint, the main spot is about 1" wide on the bottom metal flange on the cab, and there is two spots side by side like that. If wasn't for that spot I would have missed the other two.
The dealer will get Ram to authorize to have the paint refinish, so I'm not worried. Its just that I will have wait to get my truck.

You know what is sad about this..... Salesmen have som decent down time. There is ZERO reason they should not be reading and know every little thing about the current models and new ones around the corner. I had had a dealership they would be tested.
