My 2013 just started the ticking sound. Like it has an exhaust leak. My bumper to bumper is expired. I have about 44,000 miles on it. Does Drive train warranty cover this?

Looks like I just joined the "broken manifold bolt" club.

Heavy ticking on cold starts........I figured manifold leak before I came on here to research.

But broken bolts from numerous heat cycles seems ridiculous especially since I'll be on the hook for the repair.

Dodge really should solve a seemingly simple problem.

Not sure if this is the problem, but I know that years ago there was a problem with aluminum corrosion on galvanized steel. It seems to me that this may still be the case.

just out of morbid curiousity, what's the downside if you don't get a broken manifold bolt fixed? Btw, mine aren't broken.

A lot of racket mostly, but it can affect performance. If it begins to leak really bad

Default warranty question for lifetime warranty holders

Has anyone had their manifold bolts break off and gotten them repaired under their lifetime warranty on their vehicle. I was told that my Lifetime warranty had been expired because I didn't take the vehicle in for a 5 yr powertrain inspection. I have a 2009 ram 1500 hemi. If you did get this work done and hadn't taken your vehicle in for the 5 yr inspection, please let me know. They said that I had signed a paper saying that I would take my vehicle in for this inspection every 5 yrs. to keep my Lifetime warranty intact. However, They could not tell me where this paper is located for me to see my signature. Please contact me if you fit this category. Thanks, Roger.

Hi Porkchop69,

The Lifetime Powertrain Limited Warranty (LPLW) was extended to the first owner or lessee on various 2006-2008 model year vehicles. The LPLW should have been explained to you by your selling dealership, and documents explaining the expectations, including the inspection every 5 years within 60 days of the anniversary of your vehicle's in service date, would have been provided at that time.

Default Treated very badly by selling dealer

In response to your comment on how the selling dealer would have explained the Lifetime Warranty to me when I bought the truck, If you have access to my survey that I wrote to Dodge and the dealer when I purchased this truck you will find out how badly they treated me when I picked it up at the dealership. This was how the truck was delivered to me: Hi Roger! Here are your keys and your new truck is parked right over there under the canopy. We hope you enjoy your new vehicle. They didn't tell me where my lock key was for my wheel locks, where my jack was, how to operate any and all of the many options the truck had such as GPS, DVD PLAYER, UCONNECT, ETC...... SO I GOT NO INFO ABOUT MY TRUCK AT ALL EXCEPT THAT MY PAYMENTS WERE GOING TO BE $500.00 PER MONTH.....The dealer called after my survey went to DODGE and asked me what they could do to right the wrong. Now, tell me what I was told to do about my Lifetime Warranty by this non caring dealership...Dodge owes me, and I feel they should make it right-----FAIR IS FAIR. I just paid my local dealership $1260.00, including taxes, for replacing 4 bolts, two on each side. You people know this is a problem, you should have a major recall for repairs.

1200 bucks for four bolts? What did they have to do? Pull the heads? That is farking outrageous.
