Any truth to this? From what I remember from the manual you should change it if constant towing or off-roading.
Coolant is every 5yr or 60kmi whichever is sooner. You are def due.
The $1k price tag is obsurb. You can do it all yourself for a fraction of that price.
Front diff is $30 in fluid 80w-90. Rear diff is $60 in fluid 75w-140. Price difference because of fluid weigh.
Coolant...I would just get the flush done. it's easiest. They usually cost $150 or so because you have HOAT coolant.
If you dont have those services done, you'll fail.
G. Inspections
In order to maintain the Lifetime Powertrain Limited Warranty, the person or entity covered by this Powertrain Limited Warranty must have a powertrain inspection performed by an authorized Chrysler, Dodge, or Jeep dealer once every 5 years. This inspection will be
performed at no charge.
The inspection must be made within sixty (60) days of each 5 year anniversary of the
in-service date of the vehicle. You must have the inspection performed to continue this coverage.
For your convenience, powertrain inspection logs have been provided. You should use these logs tokeep track of each 5 year powertrain inspection interval.
The above is quoted from my 09 Manual. To be on the safe side I basically look at it as 30 days on either side of the in service (day I bought the truck).

60 days BEFORE your initial purchase date anniversary. OR 60 days AFTER your initial purchase date anniversary. it's not a 60 day swing. It's a 120day swing. Just as stated in the Global Announcement
As well as within the link in the Announcement:
"The inspection
must be made within sixty (60) days of each 5 year anniversary of the in-service date of the vehicle". This means up to 60days after as well as before.
I saw that mentioned earlier in this thread but with all do respect I don't think they will do that. Some people put 300,000 miles on a truck in two years if they drive or transport for a living. That could wear any engine internal parts down to zero and eventually fail. With all do respect I don't think they would give someone a check for the value of their 2 year old truck with high mileage. Is this limited warranty as you say in writing somewhere? If that's the case one would have to be an idiot to get rid of their 2009 truck. Good thing that I plan on keeping my 09 for as long as I can. Anyway, when I bought my truck I was told exactly what I quoted but I could have been told wrong. Or it could have been a democrat that sold me my truck and he simply just misspoken, lol.
Btw, I just found out yesterday that my exhaust bolts broke. I also have the warranty inspection date coming up on the 5'th of March so I called my dealer yesterday. At first the tech I talked to played stupid about the 5 yr inspection until I mentioned my broken exhaust bolts. I told them they said they fixed them a while back but he said his computer doesn't show anything about it. So I said well I know I brought it in and you guys told me you did the work. So then he acknowledges that he remembers about the 5 yr inspection and says I have to bring it in asap before or by the date of purchase. I asked him about the 60 day grace period and he said he never heard of it. I said well I know you fixed my exhaust so how can they break again? They do replace them with stainless right? He said he didn't know. So today I get home and coincidently there is a mopar powertrain inspection required postcard in my mail box. It has no post mark date on it and the word inspection is scratched through so you can't read it. And it clearly states my warranty will expire on may 3 two days before my purchase date so I'm ticked now. Quote: offer good at this chrys dealership through 5/3/2014. I have the paper work and date of my purchase and it was 3/5/2009. So tomorrow I'm going with my paper work and maintenence records in order to dispute this expiration date and exhaust repair that was supposed to be performed on with 20,572 miles on it at the time. invoice says: Customer states perform RRT 10-0091/31/11, parts....Qty 4.....FP#6509544-AA, Description stud doub 9004007. Can these bolts brake twice, and I thought they replace them with stainless? Sounds to me they didn't replace what they said they did and this is all suspect. I may go to a friends shop and get a work order invoice as proof of the broken bolts just in case they give me trouble. My dealer has always treated me well but now this all seems mighty strange
No disrespect intended but you are not making much sense.
If your paperwork says you purchased the truck on 3/5/2009, then 5 years later it's 3/5/2014, add 60 days to 3/5/2014 and you get 5/4/2014. That means that to be within 60 days, you need to have the inspection by 5/3/2014 as the card you got states.
Going to a friends shop to get a work order invoice as proof of what? the broken bolts are proof enough, besides, the dealer will fix them under the 5 year inspection requirements that they fix anything that they find that needs repair.
The one thing I would do, is make sure you do the coolant service which is due at 5 years.

I guess I deserved that one Pedro, 3/5 vs 5/3 numbers threw me off (I was half asleep), lol. I feel stupid that I didn't see it, thank you very much for bringing that to my attention. As far as the bolts go why don't they have record of it on their computers? I am concerned that they did not change out the bolts when they said they did. I was there for three other RRT's on that date and at the time my exhaust bolts were not broke. So I couldn't tell if they were done or not. As long as they give me a receipt for this new repair and add the 1/31/2011 repair into their computer records then I'm fine with that. I'm going to make them do it regardless of how minor it looks to anyone else. I want it known they fixed it twice and I want to know why it is not in their computer. I'll get my radiator flushed but all the other fluids were done. Plus they repaired my transmission without looking at the dates around 36,000 miles and that's prior to my transmission fluid flush at the dealership. Thanks Pedro, although I'm a little embarrassed I feel much better now.
Hey, I was just having fun with you about the drinking. I also had the broken bolts RRT "supposedly" done during a service visit and still had both sides break again. No need to feel stupid, at least you didn't go and yell at the dealer.
I have not researched it but thought id ask. Whats with the HOAT coolant? Coming up on my 5 year and looks like I have to do the coolant and rear diff. No big deal. If I do these myself can I show proof of purchase via fluid reciepts or.....grey area.......depends on dealer.......or ..or..THX
Had mine done a month ago when the ac evap went, no questions on my service intervals, all done by me, and they didn't ask about my log/recepts or suggest any maintenance service (maybe they felt bad since they were soaking me 1100 clams for the ac) and it all is a passed.
