i MISSED MY INSPECTION, BUT NO LETTER WAS SENT. i HAVE A DISPUTE IN WITH MOPAR. ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE? I SHOULD HAVE KEEP TRACK BETTER.

 

what happened? Did you go in for a repair that should be under warranty and they said they won’t cover it?

 

Brought my 2008 Dodge Ram Megacab in for its 3rd 5 year inspection. Was told that Chrysler no longer pays them for the inspections. Only had 5 days left in window to get inspection done. Told them to inspect it and I would take it up with Chrysler. I now have a claim in for refund of $380 the dealer charged me for the inspection the should have been done at no cost. Have talked to customer service about 5 times. Getting nothing but a run around. I won't give up.!!#

 

380 bucks for an inspection???? Seriously? What's the labor rate there? I paid less than 100 bucks for a used car inspection at a local shop.....

 

I had my 3rd inspection last weekend. There was no charge to me but the bill showed $249.95.
Looks like you need a new dealer.

 

I just called to see when the next one was due and this is when I found out. They said to bring it in for an inspection and they will reinstate. I thought this was done in 2022 when I had work done as advised by someone at the counter. So figured I was way early.

 

Mopar requires the inspection every 5 years at no charge. I don't know what Chrysler pays them, but it can't be much. They only spend about 10 mins on my truck. If a dealer tries to charge for this required inspection, stop and go to another dealer. I think they.may have been confused about the specific warranty that you have. There are simply not very many 08 and 09 vehicles in the hands of their original owners anymore.

 

Completed my 5-year inspection on June 10th (2024) free of charge.
Engine starting knocking a month later on July 17th, took it in on July 24th, getting the lifters and cam replaced under the lifetime powertrain warranty.
Should get it back by end of week at no cost.
