Default Radio Static

I have a 2016 Laramie Longhorn and there is static in a few of the local FM Radio stations around town that are never there in other similar trucks or other vehicles I have had. The dealer agrees that the static isn't normal but they can't seem to find the problem. When you get outside of town the FM station is complete static. The truck is under warranty and the dealer has replaced the antenna, both cables, alternator and then the entire UConnect unit. The static is slightly better but still there and quite noticeable. The dealer is at a loss of what next to change, Any thoughts on what else they might try?

Do you know if there has been any body work performed on the the truck, or if possibly the dash, engine, or transmission have ever been out of the vehicle or had rather significant work performed on them? It sounds like possibly a ground wire was left disconnected or has been damaged, allowing the radio to pick up noise.

None of the work you listed has ever been done the truck. Not to say that a ground wire came off for some other reason. How would you know which wire it was?

Unfortunately if no related service has been performed recently, it would purely be a guessing game as to which ground to start with, or if that's even the issue.

I had my dash out a long time ago and have a similar issue with reception. Is there a good place to start checking the know locations?

Would need a wiring diagram, and start exploring any grounds for the radio/antenna.

Usually with electronic devices, the chassis is connected to the circuits. Try this, pull the radio out and attach a thick wire to the chassis. Run this wire to the battery negative and see if t he static gets better or goes away. If it does, simply connect the wire to a convenient chassis location.

Pedro Dog, Thanks for the suggestion, I would normally think chassis is the frame of the truck. When I read your post, you have me attaching a wire to the chassis and the other end to the negative post on the battery. Are you implying the chassis is the metal frame work around the radio?
Thanks,
