Debris? Like, little chunks of carbon? Better check the line between the valve, and the charcoal canister.... see if a valve in the canister didn't fail, and now you are getting that crap throughout the system.

+1 for checking for blockages. the purge flow monitor wants to see a pressure drop in the tank (via the tank pressure sensor) when the system is purging. it can't do that if the lines are blocked.

I don't think the debris is carbon or charcoal. There are some orange specs I can see when I hold the white plastic cover to a light. There is no debris or black carbon on the either of the tubes into the valve. I am wondering if there may have been some orange rubber seal inside that is starting to deteriorate.
