Ya so on any engine replacement they give a 3 yr 100000 mile warranty but the dealer is saying that the damage done to the motor was because of lack of maintenance. There’s no sludge in the heads at all they actually seemed really clean. It’s been a little over a year and 17000 miles.

I am REAL curious how a 'lack of maintenance' can break a valve spring....... Might wanna run that one past them.

All they did was pull the pan off, said there was “sludge”in the pan and “metal debris”. They showed no evidence of either. They just said they weren’t covering anything that was wrong with it. I’ll put a picture up of the original problem and why they replaced the motor.

Sludge in the pan? After less than 20K miles? Hhhmmm....... if they didn't show you anything to back their conclusions, then they likely don't have any proof. You, on the other hand, have documentation proving that the maintenance was performed. So, one of two sets of folks are BSing you. The dealership, about the cause of the engine failure, or whomever was doing your oil changes...... Either way, if the dealer isn't going to give you satisfaction, have your lawyer call them, and have a chat. File a suit, if they don't want to change their tune.... I don't recall, have you contacted Dodge Customer care? What's their take on it?

Hey you! Ya they definitely don’t have proof they just don’t want to deal with it. He had a new valve spring put in it and it runs like new now. He’s definitely going after them screw them. When he went to go pick up the truck the service manager wouldn’t even come out of his office to talk to him. Pieces of ****

Alight guys back to the 2010 with the over heating problem. I’ve got the over heating under control but now I’ve a p0304 cylinder 4 misfire. I was driving the truck and the check engine light started flashing along with the eco light. I changed the plugs and coil a couple weeks ago because I had the same code but didn’t experience the symptoms it was very strange. Has anyone had this problem please help

The flashing CEL is telling you the engine is misfiring. Gotta be pretty significant for the PCM to be that insistent about it. (and all it takes is one cylinder.....) Since you already changed the plugs/coils, I would just verify they are plugged in good. If that doesn't help, check compression....

Hey you, the truck bucked and skipped and farted and then was fine right after that. It’s only the second time it’s come on. In the freeze frame data it shows the rpms at 375 rpms. I checked all the connections and everything seems good. I don’t think I have a worn cam, roller lifter or broken valve spring. Should I check compression?
