Well I hope you have luck with some sucker on CL because there is no way in hell that anyone on this forum would even think of giving you that asking price. That's MAYBE a 19-20k truck. And you advertising how much the truck cost NEW, 5 YEARS AGO, doesn't help. Finally, there is a classifieds section for posts like this but I'm glad I saw it because that price gave me a good laugh

It sucks that mods and extra's really don't affect the price much when selling. There are several brand new 2012 big horn crew and quad 4x4's on the local lot priced at $26-$28K with all the rebates and incentives. 28k for an 08..........good luck. But hey, ya never know!

Yeah that's wwwaayy to pricy. You might have all those mods done, yes they might be with it to you or some one that knows what their talking about.but to the average Joe Shmoe, it ain't worth that much. Good luck

You would have to find the right buyer with the ability to pony up some cash. I ran into the same thing when I sold my Harley. Like many I had thousands of dollars in mods in it. But the book value was based on how it was equipped by HD. Most people have to borrow money to buy vehicles in that price range and the banks are only going to lend a certain percentage of book value. Some will lend over sticker price, like 110%, on new cars to help with fees and expenses, but most won't do that on a used vehicle.

In other words, your pool of potential buyers shrinks significantly when you try to get money back on mods. They are worth nothing if they aren't to the buyers tastes. I was fortunate enough to find a cash buyer for my bike that appreciated it as it sat and so the mods had value to him and he had the cash to cover it. All that said, I still got pennies on the dollar for the mods I had.

not negativity, just trying to be realistic. Modding your truck is only an investment in your own fun and good times, you be better off burning your stack of cash to make heat in the winter to save on heating bills, you'd get a better roi. That said you never know, no ones going to pay 28k for your truck if you list it at 20k.
