scat pack....i you can find me an M5 or M3 that any SRT8 charger will even keep up with, let alone pass it, i will show you a bimmer that has something VERY wrong with it...the new M5 is a factory 12 second car...bmws car classy...the charger...is a magnum sedan with a body kit. i agree with joe 100% the people that are pissed about this being the new charger arent so much bothered by the name, but when people who knew of the old charger heard of a reintroduction of the charger name, myself included, we thought, this will finally be a sports car..a coupe..not a soccer mom car...but the bottom line is that they have built another family car, and i, like joe, dont need another family car.

YOU JUST CONTRADICTED YOURSELF. Thier not mad at the name, thier mad that a sedan is called "charger". hmmmmm, thats the same thing. thier mad that the name "charger" isnt on a coupe or that its a sedan named "Charger", same thing. As I said GENERAL PUBLIC DOES NOT GIVE 2 S*^TS IF THE CHARGER IS A SEDAN VERSION OF THE MAGNUM!!! THE POINT IS ITS A SEDAN!!! A car they can haul thier families in. A car that sells. NOR DO THEY CARE IF THE NAME "CHARGER" IS ON A SEDAN!!! ITS BANG FOR THE BUCK. There are more standard features for less money and its ALOT cooler looking than any other sedan in its class. It will appeal to people who want somethign badass but practical. It doesnt matter how much you deny it, to the average buyer the 300 is luxury and charger is not. They will not see the same car. You think the way an enthusiat does, not the way the normal person will. The sheet metal is diff and its fancier thats what the general public will see. 2 different markets. Its more then just woodgrain and carbon fiber. ITS SHEET METAL< THE LINES OF THE CAR, INTERIOR, ITS A DIFFERENT CAR. SAME CHASIS THATS ALL. You think the average buyer is reading metor trend? No. I bet half the buyers for the charger dont even know its coming out. They'll no when they see it on the lot. Right now its the Dodge enthusiats putting in thier orders for a badass dodge that they can drive everyday and have a family.

 

I don't care what anybody says or thinks...I like the New Charger! No I'm not happy that its a 4dr, but it still looks sweet. I think DC is in bed with the idea of 4dr vehicles. Hell I remember when they wanted to make the Plymouth Prowler 4dr that way it was family friendly; I didnt like the idea nor did they do it, but it doesnt affect the speed nor muscle. In a way I agree with ManMuscle, but he said it all wrong. I think DC is trying to go in a different direction than Ford did with the '05 Mustang. DC is trying to make a new identity for the Charger, and I applaud them for it. Not everything with a retro name has to look RETRO! Hell GM/Pontiac did the samething with the GTO; they didnt go retro either. It dont look anything like its retro-self, but it sure looks good ( I know I'll get crap for that!). People are too busy living in the past, and some things need to change and start with a fresh new idea.

the real problem is that the original charger was a sports car....now dubbed a muscle car...but then, it was a sports car...Charger =sports car...so people assumed that when there was a new charger, there would be a new sports car..

it doesnt matter how many horsepower it has..a car of this size and mass isnt a sporty car..it can run factory 11s...its a big family sedan...i dont care i it sells well or not..if i had a need for a big car, hell yeah id want one...but its just ONE more car that DCX makes that i dont need...

 

BadStrat just made my point.....it is for a guy who can't afford a BMW but he still wants performance and versatility. On the street there isn't much of a difference between a 12 second car and a 14 second car since red lights and traffic kinda kill that advantage, and not to mention the Highway Patrol! If the Charger was billed to be a sports car instead of the replacement for the Intrepid I could see people being upset. So Dodge finally gets a performance sedan with style and quality and people complain about it. Chrysler may still have plans for a performance coupe in the future the Stratus and Sebring are still due to be replaced!

That is the single most ignorant thing I have ever read. So is that why you buy dodge?? Because your really a BMW fan who cant afford one?? HAHA. If thats what the Charger is then what is the 300??? The 300 IS A LUXURY SEDAN, A PERFORMANCE LUXURY SEDAN!!!! The 300 is marketed toward the buyers of BMW and other performance luxury cars. It has aggresive styling unlike the other sedans that are out and for the base price of 23,ooo-ish you get 250 hp and hell of a lot more standard features than anyone else. Accident-avoidance features, including ESP, All-speed Traction Control, ABS and a five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick®. THATS WHATS IMPORTANT TO PEOPLE!!!! NOT A NAME!!!! AND EXPENSIVE???? OOOOOOOOOK BUDDY!

uhh........ How much is the SRT-4? 21,000?? How much will the base charger cost? 22,000. Hmmmmm, Im not gonan even post a side by side of these 2 cars because anyone w/ common sense knows which car is more for the money. Well one things for sure, you deff know what your talkign about!!! NOT!

 

and once again...YOU skirt the questions...i tried being nice while everyone else was giving you a hard time,but like phil said, you are unable to to carry on a conversation with the adults. you are a kid, who isnt going to buy the ugly new charger, so no one cares what you think...this discussion was based on people who can actually buy the charger, or any other new car for that matter. it sounds like youre reading out of a magazine when you talk about cars...likely because youve not dealt with them on a level above that. you should learn not to burn bridges with people who are obviously siding with you, but i guess that comes with age.

by the way...learn to research before you run your mouth, junior..i have had a bimmer to drive over the last two years...its my dads, but he uses my car and truck, so i use the bimmer...heres a picture...WOOT!




as for the 300..were not talking about that..i woudl rather have that than most bimmers...but id rather drive a 1 series than the fugly new charger.

by the way...using things like "NOT!!" make you seem more infantile than you may actually be...anyway...the SRT4 is the highest end neon, for 21k...the charger BASE MODEL is 22k...with an engine that wont keep up with my ramcharger...but since youre too young to actually know anything about cars...youre comparing a SRT4 to an automatic 6 cylinder magnum sedan.
