79 dODGE cHALLANGER
WEVE GOT TWO CHALLANGERS AT THE HOUSE A 72 THAT IS DONE AND A 79 I REALLY LOVE AND TRYING TO FINISH. BUT I WANTED TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANTHING I CAN DO TO GIVE THE 2.6L A LITTLE MORE POWER. FIRST OFF I DONT KNOW WHERE TO GET PARTS FOR IT. iT HAS A G54B MOTOR. i JUST BOUGHT A NEW MOTOR. iVE HEARD THAT BEST THING IS TO SWITCH FROM CARBURATED TO FUEL INJECTED BUT NOT SURE BOUT THAT. i WAS LOOKIN TO DO EXHAUST SYSTEM AND TRY AND FIND AN ADAPTER THAT WOULD LET ME RUN A 4BARREL CARB ANY SUGGESTIONS

Found the picture on a site that sells original brochures.... it's the front cover of the sales brochure for that and the Arrow; I just cropped the Arrow off the pic. The original is attached, if you like it. As far as parts, I did a Google search for '79 Challenger and there were some vendors that popped up, but I don't remember a lot of the specifics on them. I can't imagine that parts are to easy to come by for a 25+ year old Mitsubishi! Try that, but a word of caution, most of the hits you will get will be for '70-'74 Challengers, obviously. You will just have to spend a little time wading through them to find what you want or need. If you need engine parts, the 2.6 was used in a lot of vehicles- have you tried a Mitsu dealer? Junkyards I would think could be a source as well, since a lot of Chrysler small cars and pickups of that vintage used the 2.6 as well. Good luck with the hunt!
