water leak
I had it bone dry today before going to work and no rain no puddles. Was a 18 mile drive and had ac on high the whole time and had another puddle today. Ac is draining fine but even if was backing up it would start leaking in the front. My leak is starting in the passenger rear floor board where the carpet meets the door frame. I have no idea what could be causing. Got a appointment to take to the dealer on Wed
ok I took to dealer yesterday, they charged me $90 for a water test and told me it was the sunroof drains then charged me $110 for cleaning. Since Ext warranty did not cover. Was also told they water testing after cleaning and no leaks. A few hours later we had a storm and again I have a huge flood in the passenger rear floor board. So will be taking it back tomorrow morning.
Wow! Now they are saying it MIGHT BE the seal around the glass on the sunroof, and the seal is part of the glass. The glass would be around $700 and $350 for labor and they said they think that should solve the problem. Of course not covered under Ext warranty, thats a lot of money to spend when they were not certain it was the issue. I will be getting some second opinions.

The glass suppose to leak slightly, thats why there are drains under the glass. also, u can adjust the glass slightly up and down, front and back to improve sealing.
and how does it cost $350 labor? it is just 4 screws holding the glass.
Check sealing at the front/rear door divider beam, and weather seals on the door and lift gate.
Also, check the rear washer solvent spray nozzle hose that goes inside the car, see if the rubber gromet fell off or something.
There are also rubber gromets sealing for rear Washer line and wires on the firewall, make sure they are there.
I understand water leak is painful to diagnose and repair sometimes, but just asking customer for hundreds of dollar every visit without fixing the problem is ridiculous.
I afraid u will just have to grab a gardening hose and spray around ur car for half of an hr, and hope it leaks.

Also, Remove doorsills and B-Pillar trim panel, Lift up carpet and inspect wet spot, look carefully under Front seat carpet, see if it is wet.
I've seen few Caliber coming thru the shop and found the Body Seam sealer behind Front fender leak, mainly earlier model Caliber. Just did one few weeks ago, found Bugs crawling around under the carpet too, Owner said it has been leaking for a while, other shops couldnt find anything wrong.
The Rear is wet because once u lift up the carpet, you will find rear seat floor board is lower than front one.
If you suspect that's your problem, Roll the Carpet up, stay inside with Flash light, and have a friend Spray water with Gardening Hose around A-Pillar and front fender area for like 10 minute, see if water is coming thru. Yes, you literally have to spray in the same spot for 10-15 min before you see water coming in.

Yes I do have a moonroof/sunroof (whatever you want to call it). Could it be coming in there and finding its way down? I was gonna try to find the drain and maybe blow some air through to unclog things. Thanks for the tip on the front fender, I'll have a look this weekend. I would have just focused on the back not thinking its was flowing down stream.
