I just read on Car & Driver.com that Dodge finally added a third shift at the Caliber plant, but get this, it doesn't start until JULY!!!

I honestly think they should and use the 3rd shift to catch up on Caliber orders before they start building the Jeep Compass, or just build the Compass elsewhere (I know it would cost them more to do that). That just seems logical to me, but I guess lately, Chrysler hasn't done anything logical.
I also agree with catching up on Caliber orders first....while I dont care for the car personally....others like it and they deserve to get their car in short order instead of having to wait an insane amount of time while a new car is rolled out with more priority then the Caliber. It's disappointing, but it seems to happen with a regularity with American automakers....
Another disappointing problem I see, Chrysler is trying to promote Caliber as a World Car, so they have an agressive campaign of selling the Caliber worldwide, and those orders are going to be filled from Belvidere also, yet they still insist on bringing two more lines of cars into that plant that will just add to the backlog of Caliber orders, really bad thought there.
Wish there was intelligent planning involved with new cars, seems like management has no clue on how to take care of situations, just let it backlog. What I see happening is a loss of potential customers with no regard to wanting them or keeping them interested.

Forget the World!!!!!!!!!!
I can't even order mine yet. And it sounds like with a backorder of 48,000 cars and the ability to make about 12,000 each month, I may get mine when Hell Freezes Over!!!!!!!!!!
Sucks too, I already have my loan set up with my credit union and it expires in 90 days.
Maybe if I send some cash to DodgeInfoCenter, he can place my order for me, then put in a good word for me and push me to the front of the line, then get overnight shipping and I will have it by tomorrow!!!!!............. Someone slap me, I am dreamin' again..........
I will wait.

Wonder if that's a coincidence or the fact that everyone is bashing the Caliber... very interesting
