Open the glove box door and drop.Find the yellow connector thats next to the radio. Unplug the connector and ck the pins, Some times when you get high resistance the air bag lite will come on, or an open circuit will too.Clean the connector and plug back together.

Thats a good question , i never even thought too check. So i went out and try it and the first time i did it i got d.o.n.e no codes tryed it twice more and nothing is coming up.. Before i was getting the code 0.456
So here is hoping it is fixed, but i am not too sure.

You'll need to scan the SRS Module for the air bag codes. If its the same you had before, which i think was the pass squib module. Then the module may have a problem. I don't know what or how much warranty you may have on it, But you may want to call the dealer and see if it may still have any warranty left.

a code reader is totally useless beyond engine driveability issues. So to answer your question, No, you just can't plug in a code reader into the engines computer. I can't believe this is your first vehicle to have an air bag. you've never owned a vehicle newer than 1994 until now? That's increadible. since your making the statement that risk factor is low, then just put a piece of black tape over the light and ignore it. Then you're no worse off than all the vehicles you've had before this one.
