My engine light came on and my mechanic scanned it to no avail

what do you think the problem is?

Was the tech trying to pull codes from the blue connector under the dash or the black connector under the hood? There is one other way of checking for codes for the engine with a scanner. Turn the key on and off three times and leave the key on after the third time. count the flashes and post.

 

I will ask my mechanic to give it a try with your idea

 

and he checked under the hood

 

and by on do you mean the car ignition ignited or just on for electricity

 

Key on engine off. Not running.

 

i tried the test 3 times

2 times the light flashed 3 times and then paused for a few seconds and then the 3 pattern again

1 time it was 5 times

also do you think it could possibly be from a break in? Someone broke into my car the same day this started happenning
