Default Having A/C issues...electrical??

Have a 2004 Dodge Grand caravan 3.8L/V6. A/C Stopped blowing cold air. Replaced the compressor and refilled with 134. Took it the the shop today and mechanic is scratching his head. He said the relays and switches are ok. Maybe no power going to the compressor? What else could I try???

Is an amber sensor the same as an oxygen sensor?

Ya, what is an amber sensor? So here is a diagram for the a/c compressor. The PCM uses the pressure transducer to make sure that system pressure is ok before actuating the compressor. Then it grounds the relay and sends power to the compressor.

So, how do you "jump" a pressure sensor to see if it needs replaced??? I know where it is located under the hood, but don't know how to check to see if it is the problem.
Thanks everyone...you have all been a HUGE help!!!!!!

You don't, it's a sensor, not a switch. You read it with a scan tool, other than that, no good way to be sure it is good or not.

Great. So the guy at the auto parts store had no idea what he was talking about!

This is why I should let my husband take care of this.
Again, thanks.
Ordered a new sensor, guess we'll just put it on and pray that's the problem. Have ruled almost everything else out.

What kind of shop did you take it to? Didn't they look at the pressure sensor?

so I am still having issues. Took it to the dealership today. They charged me $135 and told me I had a water pump leak...but didn't know what was wrong with the a/c. They want me to bring it back in next week so they can take more time to look at it. They did say it was definitely electrical...which I already knew! The compressor is not kicking on. Put on a new pressure sensor last week too and it didn't help.

I am at a loss. I really dont want to take it back to the dealership.
btw...I doubt my water pump is leaking. I have no spots in my driveway and have never seen anything leaking from my car.
