No bad sounds and it doesn't roll in park on in N with the van off when the van is on wont move at all...pulled speed sensor and it had metle on the end thinking of having it rebuilt have got a qoute for 2000 just wanna make sure it'd nothing easy before I take it in

 

Not quite clear on your answer: It doesn't roll at all in Neutral? Like it's locked in park?

$2000 for a transmission is freaking rediculous. I got a quote like that for my 1995 stratus trans. I ended up fixing it for under $100 but it took a few days of labor for me to remove the transmission, determine problem, find parts, fix and assemble.

 

The member may have meant it doesn't roll in neutral with the engine running.Thats how i read it. But i not always right.

Doesn't roll in Neutral with engine running: problem is destroyed planetary gears.

Doesn't roll in Neutral with engine off: Diff pin jambed against case.

 

Got it apart and the planetary gear Were destroyed thanks for all the help guys

 

There is one main thing that causes that failure: Trans cooler blockage.

 

I had it looked at at a shop and the actually rebuilt it for me and checked all lines

 

Better make darn sure they super flushed the trans cooler.
