Chirping worse. Boy do i screw up. Help.
HOpe you don't need to buy the tool. of course you could re-sell it.
maybe you can find a rebuild shop to take it off.
I'll tell you one thing--it is certainly good not to hear that noise. i use to not want to enter the van and drive it b/ of the noise. now i look forward to hearing the purr

You WILL need the Gates tool to remove it and put the new one on. I had to replace mine because it was making the same sound.
Here's mine:

The tool was too much money, so i went to rebuild alt. shop. they took off and put my new one on for 13.50. they took it off in about 3 mins with a "snap on" tool. If so inclined you could remove it yourself. you will need 10 mm with ext. it will have to go through the center of a coupler nut bought a home depot or such that is 17mm with 16 sides, this will be used to hold the side of the inner pulley when the 10mm is turned. Getting a guy to take off pulley was the best deal though.
If you are using hand tool, you can use a Band type strap wrench the hold the pulley.
Or you can stick a screw driver inside the Alternator and jamp the rotor in place like a red neck.
