Starts in neutral but not park? Do you have a 3speed transmission or 4speed?

The car is out of the shop with a new Alternator and they said they found a second problem. A ground wire issue. They wrapped the wiring harness that runs through the front mount with some kind of water proof tape. I know that wiring harness was pretty soaked with water. I never got a clear explanation of where the ground wire issue was. $600 dollars for the repair. I still question weather or not the Alternator really needed replacing. Water over the damn at this point. It runs good.
