Default 2000 Caravan - wont start -Relay buzzes

Just changed the plugs, wires and installed a new battery on a 2000 Caravan. The engine turns over slowly and won't start. After trying to start it and turning off the key the shut down relay clicks. It won't stop unless you unplug it or pull the neg wire on the battery.

Ideas on how to trouble shoot all or some of it?

Be sure to have a fully charge battery or replace it with a known good battery.

Battery is brand new and measured 12.7 Volts before I installed it. The old battery turned the engine over even slower.

Can you try to use jumper cables hook up to another vehicle and see if the engine cranks over faster?

I have a jump box that I could try that with. It is the original starter and I wonder if it is getting tired. Plus the car sat for 3 weeks while we had a lot of rain. Some grounds may be getting corroded. hard to say.

What is the relay clicking from?

Clicking sounds are sometimes from low battery voltage.

I understand your point. In this case the key is in the off position. It may be a bad connection somewhere.... IDK.

Could be a feed back from a sensor or short to voltage in the wire harness. Do you have a 3.0L 3.3 or 3.8L motor?

It is a 2000, 3.3l.. I am going to check all of the grounds that I can by removing cleaning and reassembling with silicon grease. I will also remove the connectors to the computer modules and clean with electrical contact spray and finish them off with a dab of silicon grease. It has been very wet here for the past 3 weeks. Tons of rain and humid.

Also I am going to clean the MAP sensor with TB spray. The air filter was abused and had holes in it. Should I remove it from the TB or can I do a good enough job by spraying in the holes in air intake.?
