New Challenger?
I already told the dealer I'm first on the list! This thing from all I've been hearing is a go. It's a no brainer, they've got the line running already, add another shift or whatever and roll'em off! I think DCX is listening to the buzz they created and now know these will sell. Just hope they don't shoot themselves in the foot and price it too high. It HAS to be competitive with the Mustang or they will not move many. The Mustang has the stronger image in the consumers eyes so the CHALLENGER will have to be priced to draw some of that business Dodge's way. Most engineering and tooling should already be in place (same platform LX) so these costs should be minimal for what is basically a completely different car from the general publics viewpoint. What will make these cars a sales success is to shock the public by introducing this new car at a very reasonable price since most of the cost has already been incurred in initial build up to the LX line, and not gouge the public for the "hottest" new product. Chrysler did this with the PT Cruiser (neon platform) and needless to say that turned into a big success. The Mustang has been so successful over the years because it was first introduced as an affordable, sporty car for the masses and never strayed far from those roots. To take from that market will be DCX's (challenge) and THE BEST WAY TO DO THIS WILL BE TO BRING THIS CAR TO THE MARKET WITH AN AGGRESSIVE PRICE TO BACK UP THE LOOKS.
Here ya go kiddies. (if I can figure out how to attach pictures that is)

Here's one more. Notice the hood scoops appear to have a butterfly?!
And let me speculate... if this is the same car as the other pictures... an R/T model... notice it has the 6.1L engine... so what will the SRT model have?! The "392" engine (6.4L) with a rumored 500hp?
Mustang, you have met your match!
edit - I should add that I'm not trying to suggest nor spread rumors that the "392" will be in the production Challenger. I'm merely pointing out the inconsistency between the R/T badging and the 6.1L graphic. Interpret that however you want. Personally, I find it interesting and curious.

guessing these were scanned in from a car magazine. I can say it is not ours.

and as for these new shots of the challenger, it really looks awesome...but i fear that chrysler will once again drop the ball, and charge like 50 grand for it...making it another elitist car that people would use it for what its meant to be used for, like the viper, cant afford it...it woudl be awesome if dcx priced it similar to the stang, but now that dodge has somehow become a 'luxury line'...i think that theyre gonna screw everyone who cant shell out big bucks...i wouldnt be surprised if the 28,000 model is a V6...[:@]
And let me see- retro is a BAD thing? Oh yeah, the having to wait for this AWESOME MACHINE is a bad thing! And my wife, THE BESTEST WIFE IN THE WHOLE WORLD says, "You can have one, but only if you get the orange one!" I've got that same feeling as a kid on Christmas Eve!

!
amanda and i have put the new car shopping on hold, depending on when the challenger comes out, and how much...but like i said, i am concerned that dodge will gouge everyone on the price, and once again, no affordable pony car/muscle car for dodge fans...
