Default Shifter and cluster lights staying on

I just noticed that the shifter and cluster lights on my 2020 50th Scat Pack are staying on which I think is the cause of the dead battery I just found. I jumped the car off and now I can’t get the Parksense display to come up in the instrument cluster and the “beep”is not working in spite of the settings being correct.

Just curious, but do you have anything in your ODB2 port, and have you tried charging or replacing your battery?

That's where I would start.

Nope no accessories…
I charged the battery. Lights still stay on. And also AC continues to blow when the car is turned off even after the power off timer expires. Thermometer hasn’t moved off 77 degrees in more than a day, and I assure you it’s been well into the 90s where I am.

Sounds like time for a visit to the dealer.

Should still have some warranty at least, right?

Sooooo the car is at the dealership now. They say it’s a control module. After that was replaced, they’ve now determined that the shifter is bad too. This is VERY disturbing. I sure hope this is not a preview of things to come and that the car is going to be plagued with electrical issues 😩

It's likely the shifter was bad, but, they couldn't tell which part was actually bad, so they guessed, and guessed wrong.

Just thought I'd update everyone on this one....the car is STILL AT THE SHOP (3 weeks and counting). Multiple control modules have been replaced, the shifter has been replaced and all the while the car has never thrown a code. Now, they have determined that all this trouble is due to a wire that had rubbed through the insulation, causing a short near the positive battery terminal! They are testing to make sure this has fixed the issues and then the task begins of reassembling the car. Hopefully early next week I will be able to get it back. With all this I am concerned now that I will have rattles, squeaks and noise which did not exist prior to this debacle. Not to mention, I sure would appreciate some complementary oil changes or compensation considering they have had the car 3 weeks!! Comments???

Usually, when putting it back together at the dealership (as opposed to the factory) they take a bit more care, so some rattles/squeaks might actually disappear. Of course, rattles and squeaks are also covered by your warranty.

Thousands of dollars of parts, for a 50 cent repair. Gotta love it.
