Dodge Charger The Dodge Charger. The car that made its competitors shiver in the 60's is reborn in 2006 into a sleek sedan that can still send the competition home wimpering, the Dodge Charger.

cool. If I couldn't find that color I was thinking of the Magnesium color. I think it is a dark green, but I don't think that would be a good color for the cleaning part. I get really pissed after washing a dark car and seeing water spots.

Very nice charger! I saw one in Bright Silver Metallic and was thinking it could use a bit darker shade like the Silver Steel Metallic and Magnesium Pearl Coat colors you are talking about. Hows it driving so far?

Edit: I don't believe the steering wheel in the Charger telescopes. I've moved mine up and down, it is tilt, but if it telescopes I haven't figured it out yet.
Thanks Lisa. The one I spotted at my local dealer was in your color too. Really nice looking, and basically the color I am looking for. My Lincoln is a charcoal gray metallic. I did like the extra room of the Charger.

Hydraulic power-assist rack-pinion steering

Lisa, directly underneath the steering column is a "paddle" like handle. Pull it towards you to release, and the steering wheel will telescope. Push it back in to lock. When I was test driving an R/T, this clamp was not entirely locked and the first time I stepped on the gas hard I was set back and the steering wheel slid back towards me. Odd feeling til I found out the locking mechanism.

Thanks, I'll try that. I've used that 'paddle' handle to adjust the 'tilt' but havent tried pulling or pushing on the wheel.

Do those not count or are they like the mid 70 Mustangs and shunned by the in crowd. Sorry for the rant but tired of hearing how it's not a true Charger but when I look at the rear there it is the word Charger right on it even on the sticker. Next they will tell me that the Hemi isn't really a Hemi. Oh well time to go drive my what ever it is.
Not all us Mustang people shun the II's or the long noses. The II is a good looking little car that we're taught is ugly. It's REALLY not. If you see a '65, '76, and an '05 TOGETHER in the same color and trim, they look a lot alike.

Plus, the potential of the II's is phenomenal. They're a great starting platform.

That being said, I unabashedly say in the midst of my Mustangs "I LOVE MY NEW CHARGER" . . . LOL! Great car so far. Being a Ford guy at heart, I REALLY wish Ford had a car in it's class. They don't.

For the record: The steering wheel tilts AND telescopes.

Yes I know not all Mustang people shun the II's, I was being sarcastic as I am not part of the in crowd. I too am a big Mustang nut and have had several, in fact I still have my very first car a 66 coupe with a 289 HiPo that currently is going though restoration. And yes I love my Charger.

Ok now dont start gettin all pissed off at me ok but i dont know why u would want the new charger because its jus another 300.Its a 4-door sedan and i dont think it looks anything like the old charger that im use to seeing. I saw one drive past me where im at and it sounded like a ricer. Now as far as i know it was stock but i dont know if it was or not. Now i love ma stratus lol now i know its not a muscle car but its still fun 2 drive. Now for sumptin else lol i am a mustang maniac and for one reason which is i basically grew up on fords and mostly mustangs. Ma momz has a 00 GT Convert. , and ma cuz haz a 89 5.0 , and ma brother has a low 9sec street legal 89 5.0. Ok now 2 get down and dirty. Even tho im a mustang maniac lol i still love the charger very much but not the new one im talkin bout the old big *** long ones from da 70's. Now im all for bringin but the hemi with dodge and havin it in a new charger but right now seeing that ford is goin retro and they are bringing in da GT500, i would of thought that dodge would think the same and go retro with the r/t but sadly they do have the hemi and the r/t but its another 300C with a new front end. Now dont get me wrong I know they do look mean comin up from behind but its jus not a style i would think young kids right now would go for and maybe thats not wat dodge was lookin at but right now unless the younger crowd wants another car that is jus a show car i would think dodge would add the old muscle car look combined with a coupe instead of a sedan and a boxxy look.
