NO not one bit!!!! and of course its raining today and i dont have a garage big enough for the car.. so im at the mercy of the weather. so i cant work on it today.. :-(

New video. It starts and idles but is making some terrible noise. I just did the crank bearings and rods. Clearances were all good. It sounds too loud to be lifters but idk for sure

Some 2013's got into the Timing Chain Tensioner and Guide recall.

They replace them with SRT components.

hahaha i love my TDI!!! and my mopars!! wife has a 07 Chrysler Aspen with a 5.7 HEMI as well. and i have a 12v Cummins.


anyways to matter at hand! i am yet to pull the heads off and check the lifters. but im pretty sure thats what it is. hopefully i can do this tomorrow.

for the timing chain. for the replacement parts. are they made of metal instead of plastic? how can you tell the difference? i think the guides in this motor were black plastic.

Well found the problem.. bad lifter. The roller on it siezed at some point and chewed up the cam...

Did u get it finished? How'd you get the crank out without pulling pistons?

Yes I did get it finished up. And I did pull the crank without pulling the heads or pistons out of the block. It was rather easy.
