Charger Power BS
This info is right off the Charger web site. I am hearing is is total BS?? I may not be a lawyer but isnt that false advertising or fraud?

RE: Charger Power BS
Hmmm, Using the performance calculator:
Check my other post about the horsepower calculator
previous run - Car Weight=4550, ET=14.433. Trap Speed = 95.84
Estimated rear wheel horsepower = 305.9 RWHP
Approx Engine Horsepower 382.4 HP
LOOKs good no matter how many times I look at it....

My brother has seen a stock SRT-8 on a chassie dyno and it was pushing 475 at the rear wheels, the dyno didn't go any higher. It sounds to me like the old trick of under rating for insurence from the 60's hemi is alive a well here in '06.
As far as the 5.7 i think its crank hp they are advertising. Either way i like my Daytona.

I don't know why all the sudden these guys who loved the Chargers last month now are complaining. Who cares what the numbers are, it gives you the seat of the pants feel. Loosing 20% HP at the rear wheels is normal and thats about what the 70HP i've seen on here figures out to. Plus dyno to dyno will make a difference. If the dyno doesn't have a good cooling fan the numbers are useless.

RE: Charger Power BS
nothing happened im happier then a pig in DOO DOO .but sometimes a little criticizm can open the door to improvments.its kinda like kids,to a parent there kids are perfect,it sometimes takes an outside person to say hey take a closer look, its then you realize some imperfections and fix them same principle.again im happier then i can say but in the quest for more power anything that prevents power increase is annoying.which in this case seems to be the computers or dodge but again im happy just being a little objective.and i have a little question as a little side bar with this particular thread ,what where the time a 440 or 427 charger could do.i mean its only fair if we are comparing cars its only fair to compare times and if my memory serves me right the numbers ive seen posted around from the older chargers they arent very different at all .
