What do i need?

RE: What do i need?
Software.
DVD Shrink will defeat copy protection and make an ISO file(disk image)
Alcohol 120% will create a virtual DVD drive and read the image as though it were an actual disc.
I suggest you google both and find the most up to date versions, and then either torrent them, or find a trustworthy site to download. DVD Shrink can't be downloaded from the publishers site because it is technically sort of illegal because it gets around copy protection.

RE: What do i need?
You can do that, but the files will be HUGE. If you want to store them on your computer for playback on there I recommend using RatDVD and DVD Decrypter. RatDVD was made to store a dvd on your computer, it compresses it down to a more manageable file size while keeping all the menus and features of the dvd (note: If all you care about is the movie itself w/o the menus and special features this is not the best solution for you. You'll want to convert to Xvid or a similar format, I don't have time to look that up right now though so I'll have to post it later)
Get RatDVD from here: http://ratdvd.ca/download.php
Now the only problem RatDVD has is it can't read copy protected DVD's, this is what DVD Decrypter is for.
Get DVD Decryptor here: http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/
There is a good guide for DVD Decrypter here: http://www.doom9.org/dvddec.htm
You want to use "File Mode" to rip the DVD, if you want everything just go to 'Edit->select all' and save it somewhere on your hard drive.
Once that's done follow the RatDVD guide here: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/arch...dvd_page_3.cfm
Note that in the first step it's telling you to find that file inside the folder on your hard drive that you told DVD Decrypter to save to.
After that you're all set, just fyi for stuff like this the forums at http://forum.doom9.org/ and http://forums.afterdawn.com/ are great resources for this kind of stuff
Oh, Nofrag: Just for a virtual drive Daemon Tools works extremely well and it's free

I use DVDShrink, but I only keep the movie on my computer for a week or so until I can burn it onto disk. The only movies that I cannot use the program with so far are disneys movies. Shrink doesn't seem to get around the copy protect on those. Everything else though is good. DVDshrink will basically compress any movie to be able to be burned onto a single layer dvd (4.7G), you have the options to take out all the foreign languages and extras if you want so that the movie looks better. I try to burn keeping the movie at around 60% quality.

Since infringing on copyrighted material is investigated by the FBI and is illegal, for monetary or non-monetary gain, I have obviously never participated in any such activities.
[align=left]However, if in theory I ever did participe in those activities, I would use DVDFab HD Decryptor to get them onto the computer and DVD Shrink 3.2 (with Nero) to get them back to a new DVD. Works 100% of the time, every time...(in theory of course)
