Horn beeping randomly
Ive seen all the posts about the issue with the 2010 Dodge Journey horns that keep honking, but there’s no responses about any resolves to this matter. Has any one heard anything new on this? Mine keeps honking and I don’t know what to do anymore. I love Dodge, but now I’m starting to have reservations on their service repairs.
Has anyone gotten a fix on this one? Mine started about a month ago and I am scared to drive it anywhere. I removed the fuses so that it wouldn't honk, but what if there is an actual emergency that I need my horn. UGH
Some have replaced the horn switch.
Are other symptoms showing up?
You might try disconnecting the battery for a while and resetting the security system.
We've seen some over night battery draw down on our '10 and have slowed it to minimal (so it seems) by making sure the accessories (radio, heat, wipers, auto lighting) are all shut down when parked.
Questionable are the availability of replacement electronic controller items.
Please update us on the appointment diagnosis!

Hi Linda,
I know this was almost a year ago but did you ever get a resolution to your random beeping issue? I am blessed with this plus the random click only on starting, replacing brakes, battery more than reasonably should have to. I have been to the dealer numerous times but only get the run around and lied to, sadly.

Wow, has this issue really been going on for this many years and no one can fix it? My horn began randomly going off almost 2 years ago. My husband removed the fuses for a quick fix because you cannot sit in traffic with your horn blowing randomly, this can get you hurt in today's world. Nor do you want to disturb neighbors by having it go off throughout the night. We have taken it to a repair shop and were told the fix would be $600.00 - $700.00 to do the following: Removing the steering wheel cover, the air bag, checking the clock spring and horn pad, and I believe replacing the clock spring. Needless to say, that is a bit high and I cannot afford that much money for my horn and quite frankly, I am not confident after reading numerous posts on this issue, that they would truly be able to fix it. Now if I were someone who owned a Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, etc. it would be apparent I made great money and could afford whatever issue came at me. But I don't, I bought a Dodge because in my experience, they have been well-priced and dependable cars. I am so disappointed in Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for not doing the right thing and doing a much needed recall for these affected Journeys. I suppose a lawsuit that is filed from someone's family that dies in an accident because they didn't have their horn doesn't seem to bother them? Nice, it's great to see that greed is definitely the motivator for this car company. I am disgusted. I have owned several Chrysler/Dodge vehicles over the last 25 years and this is the ONLY model I have had this issue with. That should tell someone that a defective part was used in this particular model and this company should be willing to make it right. What was done differently in this model than all of your other cars I have owned? Seems odd to me. I will never buy another Fiat Chrysler vehicle if this is how they do business.
