Oh, the tubing is aluminum? It doesn't say that on the website. I assumed it was steel, which certainly would retain more heat than aluminum. Aluminum would be my preference anyway.

Sounds to be a nice a system. I chose to go with the K&N typhoon kit for less worries about the location, the proven research and development that we all know K&N has always done, and the availability. I'm a "do it now" kinda of guy.
I have noticed quite a bit more throttle response, but a bit more obnoxious on the noise side. Combined with the Flowmaster exhaust system, its a bit louder than I had hoped for. But I think I can live with it. Compared to delivery day, this thing is bad-*** now.

I mean if you already bought a intake and feel happy go with it. I’m not here to push you at all.
Remember K&N is a big company after profit.
K&N has done some major research on how to apply the same intake system to as many vehicles as possible. This means larger profit. If you want a equal power gain as a airraid or k&n intake all you need to do is use the stock intake without the silencer.
Phantom 505 has already touched on this quite some time ago..
Remember the silencer on the stock format is in the same area as the DP Phantom intake. The possibility of water ingestion is only a concern if you take your hemi swimming up to the rockers.
Poorly engineered import intake kits have ruined the image for legitimate intakes.
Once again if you are happy that’s all that matters.
The phantom intake is intended for the person who is after more power and custom options that are not available through the alternatives.

We are looking for a 3.5l in the Fresno area to give a free 3.5l version to. We have mocked up a system from our dealership connection but we need to do dyno tests and so forth.
Anyone in the Fresno California area who is interested will get free dyno time and a free intake.

Is that something you built yourself? Or is it available for sale anywhere?
If my magnum was here, I'd buy one..
Mike
WOW - that sure didn't go where I wanted it to!

How's that old tired line go?
"The Check is in the Mail"
Let's see if you can beat the Magnum to my driveway :-)

I must be nuts for ordering stuff for a car I don't even have yet!!

Not nuts at all, I would just call it being well prepared for the inevitable!! You know that once you GET your Magnum. you're going to be gettin' the stuff anyway so why wait and then WISH you had it already. Now you just need to go ahead and get your plans in line for your new exhaust, higher speed rated tires (that's t he REAL reason the Magnum has a MPH limiter of 130 which, I have seen posted, can be raised by the dealership if you bring in your car with higher speed rated tires than factory), Eibach Pro Kit springs, then the exterior trim add ons from someone like DG Motorsports (only one making anything right now I believe) and the list just goes on and on and on...............
Just enjoy having fun with it when you get it 'cause that's one thing the Magnum is for sure, FUN!!!!!
