Default Tires

One of majot beefs with new cars are the tires. Most of the time they are crap and only last about 30K miles.

What is the stock tire for the SXT?

Any reviews of this tire?

I believe it is either some Continetals or Goodyears. It seems MidWest and East have the Conti while West have the Goodyears. Not sure how correct, although that is what I am reading.

I have Goodyear.

What kind of tires are you used to running. Most tires produced have a life expectency of 30K or so.

Klute, my SXT has the Goodyear Integrity tires. Smooth ride, quiet, can't speak to the wear on them yet, only have 1100 miles on the car.

LtDad, isn't the determining factor on if you get the Continentals or Goodyears whether you get the protection package (which include the self sealing conti's) not geography?

MagSXT - Ya, I think you are right about the 'protection plan'. I wasn't offered that and don't want the 'self-sealers' anyway.

I have the 4x4 Contis, not self sealing, on my RT (no protection package). I know of 1 other Magnum RT (non AWD) and it has the Conti non self sealing all season tire (also no protection package).

Could it be that the SXT gets the Goodyears and the RT the Contis? But I thought I had read a post from an SXT owner in reference to the Contis.

Are the Goodyears you have 225/60/18? The only other tire I have found in that size is a Pirelli P7 (expensive). Those Goodyears have to be quieter than the 4x4 Contis for sure.

Ok, now I got it, the SXT does not get 18" wheels unless you go AWD, I missed that part.

Never mind.
