Hi all.

I am new to this forum and have a question about the NAV upgrade / replacement. I just ordered the unit and ordered the bezel and wondered why the big difference in the non-NAV bezel and the NAV bezel? There is about $70 difference in price with the NAV bezel much cheaper. Is there something I am missing on the upgrade?

Otherwise, thanks for all the good info. While I may be new to this board, I am not new to the enthusiasts boards. My last toy was an '03 Harley F150. Kinda hard to go down so much in power to the RT but this car is so much more comfortable and fuel efficient that the change is well worth it.

Down in power??? Even if the Harley F150 had the SC 5.4, 380 hp, 450 tq engine, that thing has to weigh at least 6,000 lbs, so the RT has to be quicker.

No, the Magnum is not quicker, either in the 1/4 mile or 0-60 or in the 0-100.

I wish it was though :-)

I guess you'll have to move.

I doubt I will do that...the only bad thing about the lack of turn by turn....
you loose the ETA function.

Not a big deal....

I never thought I would get a Navi system eigher but a few years ago when I was buying a new GPS I got a higher end unit because the screen was a lot nicer. Turns out it did Auto Routing w/ Turn by turn directions just like the in car stuff. I do something called GeoCaching and I travel a lot so loading a new area into the unit helped me get around, find places I wanted to eat and get me around traffic.

Given that 1800 bones is a TON of cash for a Navi, its has the added bonus of being built into the Cars controls and speaker system. I also travel with a laptop with Delorme SA 2003 and a GPS attached. While having that 1600x1200 screen for a map is nice, it can be a bit bulky. Heck I am thinking about building a super small computer for playing MP3's in the car, those Micro ITX computers are insane small and have some decent power to them for doing NAvi, DVD, MP3 etc

So when I get to order my RT or SRT-8 I am going to get Navi installed, as I dont plan on doing anything to the stock sound system so it should be all good.

Go take a look here for actual times, etc, of enthusiasts:

Well, you can also find them for a lot less than $1800 - just do your shopping. I paid a little over half that.

But those trucks aren't stock!!! Big difference. Any vehicle can be made faster with money thrown into it.

True, there are trucks there that aren't stock just like there are some Magnums here that aren't stock. Some have spent $60 on a pully while others have spent thousands on new blowers, etc, but there are some that are totally stock listed there as well. Take a look.

Also, a simple Google search brings up many places with drag times. Everything from magazine articles to news reports with real world comparisons.
