Hesitation in the Hemi

Don't forget that the MDS can only work for six minutes at a time. The engine will revert back to 8 cylinder mode to maintain correct temperatures. Once the temperature requirement is met, the MDS will kick in again if driviing conditions merit.

Could the hesitation have something to do with the Throttle Calibration? I noticed it after I did the recalibration, going to do it again to see it I can get it to go away.
Also, 450 miles on my Rt, and it broke loose once with ESP on from standing stop. I use mid-grade fuel, in Tx. Since then, no dice. Tried with ESP off, RPM to 1800, WOT. [
]She just stopped moving, Thought the engine had shut down! ESP light flashed, car stopped me from lighting'em up!
Break-in is how long? Lot's of 0-60 on on-ramps and such at WOT and no complaints in over-all performance....

I really really like this car...

I can't remember where I saw it...it was before I bought my RT, but I saw a notice that the earlier RT's had an older computer that was causing hesitation problems. After several back-n-forth dealings with their dealer they had the computer replaced and all was well after that.
Not sure if that helps anything, just thought I'd mention it. I'll see if I can find the post (wherever it was)[&:]

Yo, Mag Freak. You are right on top of this stuff!
So cool to run my Mag RT up up the Grapevine (10mile nasty slope) in cruise at 85. These are the best vehicles ever made, except for the the Gold Duster I learned to drive mountain roads in (different story)
I drove the RT 820 miles yesterday. very nice, not really fatiqued like the last 3 RT,S I owned.
Love the Magnum!
Later.

I'm very interested to read about the hesitation problem. I have a new 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
with the hemi (5.7 L) engine and I am experiencing the same problem. At highway speeds, even
on flat road at a constant speed, it feels like there is a slight "miss" in the engine. It is as if there
is a very short loss of power. I agree with the observations of others - no change in the RPM
meter. I took the Jeep in to have it tested - they found no problem but did a software upgrade.
Unfortunately, no improvement. I find it quite annoying and disappointing. Other than this,
the Jeep is a great vehicle (and my second - previously had an older Jeep Grand Cherokee).
I would be particularly interested if anyone experiencing this problem had it fixed at a dealership
and what they found the problem to be. I hope it can be corrected - as it is now the vehicle
doesn't feel "smooth" cruising on the road at highway speeds.

For people with car knowledge: The MDS must have a relay or fuse, correct(check it, if not it must be solenoid driven anyway, so that could be tapped into)? If that is the case it would be easy to both: A: Install an LED that goes on when the MDS is on, and B: install a jumper allowing you to keep the MDS from going on. My concerns with B are that it makes the engine believe there is a problem and puts the Check Engine Light on, or it messes with the computer and it starts limiting different perameters. I am leaning towards it throwing a signal. The other thing is if you were to install the jumper in the incorrect place you could possibly kill only the spark, or only the solenoid, or only the injectors, or random combinations, so you would need to dig deeper into where exactly the jumper would go(get a service manual). The LED indicator, however, should be relativly simple and have no adverse effects(although it would be set up in parallel so, if the MDS failed to trigger but the LED still was triggered the ECU may not recognize the failure of the MDS).
