I have a 1997 dodge neon and when shifting to 2nd gear it grinds and I was wondering what is wrong and how to get it repaired and how much it would be?

Well, if it is just the linkage, it is cheap to repair, and you can do it yourself. It's usually the bushings. Just make sure you get the right ones. NAPA will sell you ones for a Saturn if you try to buy it online. That is what I would try first especially if your shifter is a little sloppy feeling. All of the bushings on my Neon have broken in the last year or so that I've had it, but they may have been original.

Hope that helps, good luck.

Default Radio Not active!

My 2003 Dodge 2.0 flashes a message at the odometer saying "fuse" and the radio nor clock will light up or work. Checked fuses on the driver side panel, but they are all ok. Is there someone else I can check, like fuses under the hood? The radio is connected to the sunroof, but the sunroof is fully functional.

P0344 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Intermittent

I doubt it's too big of a deal to fix.

Keep in mind that a problem with the Crankshaft position sensor can cause the same code.

Default 2003 Dodge Neon Bad PCM?

Hi, new here so bare with me, can you please tell me if this could be bad PCM problems?? 2003 Neon 2.0 Auto

Had fuse #10 blowing constantly all of a sudden. Took 2 months of them blowing this fuse out at shop to find a bad grounded wire near rear transmission area. They did state before fixing this wire that tapping on the computer would shut the car engine off. Don't know if fuse #10 has Pcm line in it. After getting car back car would periodically start skipping on me around 45mph, then began intermittantly shutting off for no reason. At first I could shut off car, turn on and be fine again for a few weeks but things began getting worse. Then car started going into limp mode (no check engine light through all these things) and shutting off and not restarting. Sometimes could shut off car and restart and drive fine again. I was told by mechanic to unplug battery for 15 min. and when I did car drove perfect for 3 weeks. Now periodically I go into limp mode and getting random codes, shifter solonoid (replaced) then gas cap, then transmission pressure sensor, etc. But I found that all I had to do was reset battery long enough and car would drive perfect, no codes no issues until one day it would start again. Does this sound like bad PCM? Could that grounded wire have ruined my computer? I dont understand why if something was really wrong and I'm getting these codes resetting computer would fix all issues.

Question

Hello

I have a 2005 neon 127k. For the past 2 weeks when you go over a bump or hit a pot hole the transmission kickdowns for about 3 seconds and then builds up speed/power again.

No codes at this time.

Thanks for your help
